Touch up recommendation for petrol blue
PinkyAtAcme replied to PinkyAtAcme's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Thanks for the suggestion (I'm not sure why I didn't think to check the dealers!) -
I've spotted a couple of minor stone chips in my paint work, and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for touch-ups on metallic paints. I've had a quick look through various reviews, and couldn't find any consistent opinions on the various products. Chipex looks like a good product, but while users claim it's the best thing short of a full respray, others seem to think it's no better than the Halfords kit.

Superb Order tracker

Having completed all the paperwork, and paid the initial rental, I've just been told that the car isat the exit port, so should be here in a couple of weeks. I was under the impression that registration could only be done once the car was in the UK, so thought it would be sooner. Not too concerned, just a little frustrated over how long it's taking. -

Another burst of that hold music (where do companies find these recordings?) and got a confirmed build week 45. Should get it by Christmas -

SWMBO (MatureStudent of this parish) has already covered the spec on page 5. I don't mind it slipping a little TBH, so long as it doesn't slip as far as the Octy did! -

Just managed to get an update from SUK that our (still unconfirmed) build date has slipped from wk 43 to 46 :( It's still looking better than the Octy in 2001 though! -
No - got a deal on a private lease through a broker. This means I hand the car back, but the numbers make it a sensible option just now!

After making the decision to sell my '01 Octavia 5 years ago (purely for financial reasons), I will soon be a Skoda owner once more I have a Superb SE Business on order, and hope to be taking delivery in November. Hopefully this purchase will go a little smoother than the Octavia one (15 weeks delay, and a change in colour).

Custom remap or generic chip?
PinkyAtAcme replied to PinkyAtAcme's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
:P Only reason I've been looking at Star is that they're ~1.5 miles from me. As for the resistor mod, I've been an EE for ~10 years, and mentioned this, but SWMBO always knows better! -
Does anyone have any experience on what the best option is for increasing the performance of a 1.9TDi Octavia when pulling a caravan? I was considering forking out for a custom map at Star, but SWMBO has been going on about the plug-in generic modules being the best value-for-money option, as she has seen some local outfit selling them for 80 quid fitted. This seems a little on the cheap side to me, although as far as I can find out, all these do is increase the fuel flow. All I really want is to get rid of the "I know I can" feeling when dragging the 'van uphill TBH. Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.
