  1. Thanks very much Fatty5000 (that sounds terribly rude of me) very useful and now the job is done Cheers Jonah
  2. Thanks Ken, Unfortunately I don't live near your local garage, but it is now done and dusted all ok. Jonah
  3. Any chance of telling me what size star key/allen key you used? I am struggling with mine. Thanks Jonah
  4. Hi, I wonder can anyone help? I am trying to change the rear discs on an Octavia and have come upon a problem. The problem being, having undone the screw holding the disc in place I am unable to get it past the two 'prong' things (sorry, not technical) shown on the attached photo, to remove and replace it. Can anyone tell me where the screw holding them in place is and what size spanner/key I will need to undo it? Thanks. Jonah
  5. Thanks Ken, I've just finished the work! It went something like this, 3/4 day on the first wheel, seek advice from briskoda users, 2.5 hours to complete wheels 2,3 & 4! Just wish I had asked before I started the job. Thanks for the very useful info to all who replied. Jonah
  6. Hi to all, I am on my 2nd Octavia 1.9tdi and for the first time having a little difficulty with it. I'm trying to replace brake discs, (85k so I don't suppose it's bad) but cannot work out the size of the Alan key holding the discs in place. Stupid question I know, but as there doesn't appear to be a Haynes manual for the Octavia and I don't know where to get a workshop manual of any kind. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks.
