  1. I had a rattle in my drivers side door for quite some time and Skoda couldn't find the cause. On day I randomly placed my hand on the power window buttons, and it disappeared. Turned out the buttons were loose in the housing and made a rattle that was enhanced in the door. Skoda switched the power window button unit - thingie and the rattle disappeared.
  2. As I under stand it the chrome trim is attached to the rear side windows. Therefore you would need to cut these windows out to change the trim. I was planning to go the other way around because the black pack wasn't available in Denmark and I don't like chrome. But just seems to be too much hassle with risk of leaks afterwards. Might end up dipping my chrome black or wrapping the trim. But that doesn't help you as you want to convert it the other way. :-)
  3. Is this the headlamp type you have? If yes, DON'T paint the reflector, it's put there to enhance the light from the bulb.
  4. I'm having problems with my TPMS too, random false alarms and Skoda says everything is fine! I've started to record every alarm i get! Sure, everything is fine!
  5. Finally got the summer wheels on. A bit to bright for my liking - will be back to titanium grey next summer
  6. Finally got the summer wheels mounted. Bright silver Bentleys with polished faces for the rest of the year, but will be back to titanium grey for next summer - This is a bit too bright for my taste, but I just can’t be bothered changing color on the wheels for the few months left of Danish summer 2017 Next on the list is mounting the SRS-Tec Wide fenders.
  7. you can play around with wheel sizes here: http://www.willtheyfit.com Insert a size you know works as your "existing setup", and use that as a guide (for example 225/35 19 on 8.5X19) You can see the original Skoda wheel sizes here: https://www.wheel-size.com/size/skoda/octavia/ Skoda's wheel setups are very conservative and hiding in the arches
  8. Front. 18" x 8.5 et42 (Will work) Rear. 18" x 9.5 et40 (will not work) I run 19x9 et41 225/35 19 in the rear on mine and it's a close fit. I had to add -2 deg of camber in order to avoid rubbing with full booth and people in the back. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=https://c7.staticflickr.com/9/8624/28591013470_1ead0f8aa7_h.jpg&key=d4e55a724fa6865bb708b2e656c49df950ff1100c4341699a67918d53e3dd274
  9. I honestly like the old tail lights better. Fits better with the lines of the car. The new tail lights are a bit too "organic" for the hard lines of the 5E
  10. I put a couple of rounds of electrical tape around mine where it pushes against the metal. This has helped for me. I've had bot the stock ones and aftermarket LED's fall out.
  11. Which is why ist not uncommon to see brand new cars at dealerships with broken side windows and missing airbags A local Mercedes dealership had 7 new high end cars vandalised and ripped of airbags not long ago.
  12. Driving a low car means knowing the location of every single pothole and dip on the roads I drive often. Potholes suck! I had a wheel warped on the old Fabia because of that, and no curb protector would have changed that.
  13. Am I the only one thinking that the Skoda design style is all over the place. No red line or signature detail across the models anymore.
  14. Anyone tried just paying attention and looking where they drive? That should be cheaper than mounting ugly plastic strips to the wheels
  15. I was suggested to bring the car when going to the Post Office! Great idea and good to have a “stationwagon” New SRS-Tec Wide fenders arrived, should give some more clearance in the front :-)
  16. Hi Thank you for the kind words, I'm pretty stoked about how it turned out. The RS bumper is plug and play. Everything fits except you need to redo a little wirering at the fog lights - the standard 5E only has one bulp in the fog lights and the RS has two I have a complete list of parts needed to do the conversion somewhere. Let me dig it out for you in the next couple of days. As with the Bentley wheels, you will need to adjust the camber for it to fit if you want to lower the car.

  18. 8.5x19 ET 45 is a perfect fit (225/35-19 or 235/35-19 I know for sure will work as we have those setups in my family) 7.5 x 19 ET 51 will hide in the fenders and need spacers too look great IMHO
  19. The Skoda's are notoriously known for being on stilts from the factory. The interesting thing is that on all the marketing materials and official photos, the car is often lowered what looks to be around 40mm. And theres even photos from car fairs that show the suspension being compressed by tie downs. So obviously its not the designers and marketing department that wants the high car
  20. I run 45psi in my 225/35 R19 winter wheels (8.5x19) cold tire inflation pressure, and 42psi on my 225/35 R19 summer setup (9.0x19) This works for me with my setup, but as you can read above there's lots of different opinions on what pressure to run :-)
  21. The ABS TPMS is highly flawed. It can be set off and give false warnings if you hit a pot hole or if you make a turn on a bumpy road. I find it very frustrating, having to check tire pressure relatively often only to find out everything is ok.
  22. well that sucks. I just had a brand new wheel (new tire and rim) loose 5 psi every single day. They couldn't figure out what was causing it, since there was no puncture, and the valve was ok too. It turned out to be one of the small rubber overflow strings you see on new tires being wedged between the tire and the rim, causing it not to seal a 100% tight. These (just for illustration - not my wheel)

  24. My winter setup. 235/35 R19 Hankook Icept
