  1. its not bad, sure. My last 3 cars were on the 7.9% APR the issue is the list price is up, discounts are down, and for a similar spec car its about £4k more than I struck a deal at last time (around £19k for a DSG TDi Hatch, been quoted around £23k for the Mk3) Granted some extra toys as standard now but I wouldnt have normally spec'd them, sadly. So while I appreciate its still good value for money and the car is better, I am working to company car allowance... so the monthly costs on PCP are higher.... :/ I really want to upgrade to a MK3 but holding out now for another few months see if free servicing at least comes back. I managed to get that on all the others....
  2. pretty bobbins that. spend more = worse finance. You'd think they would want the extra money... looks like I will wait and see what offers come up towards the end of the year when quotes need to be filled.
  3. Hi Anyone got any info on when the 0% finance offers combined with the servicing packs will be back including the vRS? Right now its on the skoda website, but when you click down to the actual vRS page it says 7.9%, and you dont get the free servicing. This is the thing preventing me from ordering... Thanks Ian
  4. Hi How come noone is getting anywhere near the online broker prices (up to 19% discount) Not that 11% is shabby, just wondering. Ive had one quote that came in at 10.8% Ian
  5. Some blagger quoted me a better discount for cash than finance None of the other quotes have that discrepancy, and certainly never had that issue in my past 3 octavias.
  6. my mistake I read that link as the same one I used already seems its a way to get dealers to invite to quote... ok so I did that, got a quote from simpsons (that includes their £2k offer) which was around £2360 off list. so...£360 off list...(!) I took that as an indication that they are just taking the **** like last time I went there to buy a car.
  7. Hi I had my car serviced once and delivered back to me. When I dropped it off they didnt do the usual check of damage etc. Came back with a curbed alloy. I fought my case, and said provide the damage checklist that you should have filled out and had me sign, they couldnt. Assuming the same is the case here, you are totally in the right and they should fix everything for free. I got my alloy refurbed and it was like brand new, couldnt tell the difference. good luck! remember, the onus is on them to prove the damage was there prior to them taking the car in.
  8. Ive dealt with Simpsons for my last 3 cars, so that might be an option. I will have to give them a call. I got a quote off the website mentioned, came in around £21k for a barebones TDi CR DSG hatch. so a bit more on top for some options. Id have the trade in though... Best regards and thanks for the response Ian
  9. Sorry if its being asked a lot Im on my 3rd Octavia vRS, now just over 2 years old with about 20k on the clock. Ill have a decent wedge towards a deposit I imagine, as I am on a 20kpa solution deal and have done half that (!) Just wondering with the ~£5k price hike with the launch of the 3rd Gen vRS, what kind of deals are people who have changed from v2 to v3 getting? Are you paying around the same amount on the monthly payments - thats what matters most to me. Also, if I am "just" doing an average of about 10k, am I better of getting the petrol next time? I have had 3 x DSG TDi in a row now and love them, but just think I might be spending too much to have the torque... thanks for your insight! Ian edit - just looked at one of these broker pages car2buy I think, and it came back with quites which vary by only £300 between the CR and TSI, therefore, it makes sense to keep running a diesel I reckon.
  10. It wasnt that but thanks for the input. IT seems to be behaving itself now. Just an odd one. If it happens again ill have it in the garage.
  11. Hi I have a 60 plate vRS TDi. Its got the standard touch screen stereo. I use it with a 16gb SD card and various types of CD (original, MP3 cd etc) Its been flawless until the last couple days. It will play a track (CD, mp3, whatever) then skip back to the start, play a few seconds, then jump a track forward. Its super annoying. Doesnt seem to do it all the time. Doesnt seem to have any pattern. Ive done factory reset and it still exhibited this issue. I drove 200 miles home yewsterday howver and it didnt do it. Just a glitch? Something known? Something to get a dealer to look at? Thanks for advice!
