Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Kaiserb_uk replied to nopowerman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi, Are there any updates available for my 2019 Octavia (with virtual cockpit)? Thank you in advance! -
Apologies, didn't see that. Still, did the previous thread have any info on this rumored 'Graphine'?
-
So I've just been told by a dealer that Meteor Grey is no longer an option on the VRS. No idea why, although my conspiracy theory is that it devalues Audi's Nardo Grey :D Anyway, dealer reckons a new colour is coming out, might be called Graphine/Graphene, but no dates and hasn't seen it. Anyone here in the know?

Low frequency 'boom' in cabin

Mine does it, but I got the Canton pack and I have the sub all the way up so I hardly notice it now.- 1,541 replies

Boot Nets and mats part numbers

Anyone know if the parcel shelf net (standard on the elegance?) is available to retrofit? -
Got my new meteor grey VRS today.

Looks awesome and I'm another with a similar one on order...in fact it's a week 4 build so should be in the country any day now! Love the roof wrap, might have to look into that. -
Heh, looking forward to trying to prove you lot wrong now I like diesel (loved it in the Furby), but with a 15 mile commute I'd be worried about DPFs and wouldn't be doing the miles to offset the costs.
-
Just to provide some perspective (hopefully), I'm waiting for my Octy vRS hatch TFSi but at the moment driving a Megane RS250 - and long term average in that is ~34mpg and at the moment (winter tyres, flooded/**** roads) I'm pushing 36... I've ordered the Octy on the promise of that 45mpg out of a petrol, I drive like a (pretty quick) nun 90% of the time but want the performance for the rare occasions the red mist descends
-
Sorry, I meant I agree with the OP. But if you're going to split hairs then you're saying you don't try to predict what cars infront are going to do, and therefore rely on your reaction times to every new (and presumably surprising) situation. Interesting technique.
-
I completely sympathise with the sentiment of this thread. The problem as I see it is that say 75% of drivers are sufficiently talented, intelligent and conscious to be able to match the behaviour/speed of the drivers around them. Maybe twice a week on my commute I meet only these drivers and we all merrily plod along at reasonable speeds and get to work on time and stress free. Which leaves the other 3 days when you meet the "pedal stuck at 40" drivers, the "brake for absolutely no reason" drivers, the "can't pull out of a junction without a written f***ing invitation" drivers, the "it's a roundabout, I MUST STOP" drivers... So you either display a zen-like patience and let them get on with it, or you appear to all the world as an aggressive 'dangerous' driver because you do your damndest to overtake at the earliest opportunity. Some days I manage to be zen, the rest I guess I'm an arse. But an arse with no dents on my car and a full ncb.

Really don't like the look of the Ford. No, the Megane has the right mix of comfort, toys and performance for me I think. ROFL @ the 'reasonably priced Porsche'. A £35K Boxster plus £25k of extras

Has any one really pushed their car to the limit ?
Kaiserb_uk replied to scottk18's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Flat out, might have had another 2 or 3 mph in it but entered a 100km/h zone at 217 km/h -
All valid points but it goes like stink, handles brilliantly and looks fantastic (to my jaded eyes at least).
-
The dealer's currently offering a paltry £923.40 discount over list. I suspect there's room to haggle...I'm rubbish at haggling. FWIW the deal is worth £24951.60 - on a (don't shoot me) Renaultsport Megane 250
-
I think I know the answer to this, but it can't hurt to ask the Brisky hive-mind for a bit of a 2nd opinion Car is August 2004 on an '04 plate, 88k, Black Magic, Cruise, pretty much all the usual mods (Eibach springs, Jabba ARB, Bilstein shocks, REVO map, SEAT pipe etc). Lots of paint chips, the odd ding, spoiler is peeling fast and the wheels are lightly curbed (it looks like a reasonably looked after 6 year old car ). Dealer is aware of all the mods (and has seen/driven it) and has offered £2850 part ex. Thanks for your opinions.
-
Oh I dunno, Simon's Evo might have been thirsty but he generally managed to keep up
-
I'm going to get in touch with Jabba, see what the score is with the FSD's.
-
I've got to get the car in suitable order now - poor girl is 6 in August! Four new T1-Rs first up, and maybe some new shocks (blummin FSD's are shot I reckon).

New bloke at work has been delayed by the volcano, but should start this monday. We'll see how he gets on in his first week, if he knows his stuff then I'll be good to go. I certainly hope so, with all the trouble I've caused
