  1. Interesting comments about the mpg. Suspect we will average low 30’s in the TSI. Few more photos after full paint correction. The more I look at it the more I love the proportions of the Kodiaq, and it’s relatively understated design and looks. I think it will age well, unlike some of the SUV’s out there. I have a flat bottomed steering wheel coming, as per the Sportline, with the DSG shift paddles, so will fit that later this week. Also a glass screen protector for the Columbus unit.
  2. Hi everyone, picked up a nice 67 plate Edition 2.0 TSI DSG yesterday, in Quartz Grey with a great spec including Pano roof, DCC, Heated rear seats, Area view camera, Park Assist, ACC, Heated windscreen, Virtual Pedal, Interior Light Pack, Spare wheel, Memory seats (both) and more. 6 years old but 1 owner from new, full Skoda history and just serviced. Bought privately so I have a nice thick history file including all the invoices and the original bill of sale too 👍🏻 Pleased with it so far, it’s a nice place to be and the engine seems well suited to the car.
  3. Thanks, yes I’m aware of the need to scrub in new tyres, and check bolt tightness - what are the correct torque settings for them?
  4. Anybody? Has nobody changed their own brake fluid on a Citigo? Costs about £5, compared to £50 - £60 at a dealer......!
  5. Some serious thread drift here! Anyway................had the CrossClimate+ tyres fitted today, all good so far, they seem to install more confidence than the cheapo tyres that were on it before. Suspect once they are scrubbed in they will be way better in cold / wet / damp / wintry conditions.
  6. I have a Citigo SE that is due a brake fluid change. As I have a Sealey VS820 pressure bleeder tool and enough common sense and experience, I'm planning to do it myself. Is there anything I need to be aware of or can I just hook it up to the fluid reservoir and get the job done, starting with the furthest caliper first? What about the clutch fluid, guess I need to find the slave cylinder to do that also? Any tips would be much appreciated. I presume standard Dot4 fluid (I normally use Comma) will do the job nicely ?
  7. Thanks for all the help, despite going a bit off topic but interesting nonetheless. I've sorted out a good deal on 4x CrossClimate+ tyres, £220 fitted at my local ATS.
  8. I have a 2.0TDI Superb III with DSG that is due a brake fluid change. As I have a Sealey VS820 pressure bleeder tool and enough common sense and experience, I'm planning to do it myself. Is there anything I need to be aware of (ABS unit.....?) or can I just hook it up and get the job done, starting with the furthest caliper first? Any tips would be much appreciated. I presume standard Dot4 fluid (I normally use Comma) will do the job nicely ?
  9. Thanks Peter. I'll go for the 175/65 R14 size. I'm undecided between the Michelin CrossClimate+ and the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen3. Both are about £53 - £55 each. Any help / advice / experiences much appreciated....
  10. I’ve just bought a 2014 Citigo SE with the 14” steel wheels. They currently have cheap Mohawk tyres fitted, which I’m keen to replace with something decent, probably Michelin CrossClimate+ as my wife and daughter will be driving it mostly, so I expect the Mich's will be a good all rounder safety wise. Current tyre size is 165/70 R14. Is this correct or should it be 175/65 ? Could I potentially go up to 185's on the steel wheels or not? Also if anyone can recommend anywhere to get the Michelin’s from, that would be great. Cheapest I can find them is £55 at Blackcircles.
  11. I have a 2015 2.0TDI. With the increase in theft of catalytic converters, can anyone comment on how vulnerable they are on the Superb III? Where is it located - I presume in the mid-pipe that’s attached to the manifold?
  12. Does anyone know whether 70k is the correct interval for this? I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that it varies according to which country you are in !
  13. I have a 2015 65 Superb 2.0 TDI 190 DSG, and my understanding is that the cam belt should be changed every 5 years / 140,000 miles, is that correct? It has done 71,000 miles but is exactly 5 years old this month. Any help would be much appreciated. How much have others been quoted at main dealers for this? (I may go to my independent).
  14. I’ve had my L&K 190 now for about 4 weeks, pleased with the car overall, but I can’t help noticing that the road noise seems to be a little higher than I’d expect for a car this size. I totally appreciate that it doesn’t have the soundproofing that an A6, E Class or 5 series has, but all the same, I would like to try and improve it. It has the standard fit Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres all round, 6mm tread front, 5mm rear - in fact the rear tyres are the original tyres, having covered 56,000 miles! I’ve read on here that these tyres can be particularly noisy, so my question is, is it really worth replacing them and selling on a certain auction site for approx £120 (it seems) and replacing them with something like the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS3? Would I really notice that much difference, in terms of feel as well as road noise, or would I be better to wear them out first? They do seem a little fidgety too on anything but the best road surfaces.
