  1. I saw this and tried, however, it only gave me Info and Back. It did not display a Reset, hence I was ripping my hair out! At least I got it done. Thanks again.
  2. I had tried everything on my Fabia II Vrs to reset the service interval. Nothing worked until I put the Hazard Warning lights on first! Then followed the above. Perfect, reset great!
  3. I know where his is an old post, but it’s brilliant. I had an oil Change warning come up. I reset it by the first method which I got on U tube. However, three weeks later I got a message saying “Inspection due in 18 days”. This would not reset using the usual method. Stuck on the four way flashers first and Bob’s your uncle.....it worked! Thank you so much Tehany for this great tip!
  4. Thanks Mate, will keep you updated when I get them fitted.
  5. These look great. What bulbs do I need to get as I have only one bulb. It's a little confusing on Hids Direct website as they quote either high or low beam. I assume that I go for high beam and the reflector unit will in essence dip them when I select dip. Is this a correct assumption. If you can steer me to an exact unit, it would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Thanks, I'll take a look at some of the posts on Hid kits and see about fitting them. I can't see ****e all at night, whilst my wife's 1.2 has brill lights! How could Skoda get it so wrong?
  7. I agree with Fabiamk2se, I have a Nov 2014 Fabia VRs and it only has one bulb on each side. The headlight and main beam are crap and I would really like to improve the night time visibility. When I select main beam, there is a loud solenoid clunk and shutter reveals more light. That's the theory anyway! Is it possible to fit Xenon bulbs or how do you make these single H7s brighter? By the way Fabiamk2se, I am fitting an Eonon 8" Android unit tomorrow. I will post some pics when it's done. The Columbus I fitted earlier in the year to my wife's 1.2 is still going well, but it has limited capability. I am hoping to improve on this wit the Android u it.
  8. My wife's 1.2 TSi DSG sounds fantastic and has very smooth engine tickover. My 2014 1.4 VRs rattles from cold and does not sound as sweet as the 1.2. It's got 14k miles, the last three I did since buying it in August. It's not using oil and apart from the noise at tickover and light acceleration is a great car to drive. I just wish it had the great roar under acceleration that the wife's 1.2 has.
  9. Sold my Volvo and bought a nice Fabia MkII VRs. Nov 2014 and low mileage. Was going to put a Columbus in it to replace the Swing, like I did with the wife's 1.2 TSi, but think I might look at some of the Android units kicking around. Has anybody fitted one of these? The Zenec units look way too exspensive, so really looking for something cheaper.
  10. Does this mean that if you bought one of the last production mod las in Nov 2014, it should be well sorted and have all previous design issues sorted...or not. I have a nice Nov 14 VRs and it's using minimal oil, although, I only rarely drive it hard. Consumption is around 40 mpg!
  11. Just bought a Candy White, Fabia II vRS 1.4 TSi, first registered in November 2014 (one of the last batch) Black Roof & Mirrors Cruise Control Bluetooth and Steering Wheel controls Black Pack Arm Rest Only 11,100 miles when I bought it on 5th August 2016 Full service history and warranty to 29th December 2017 Car had repair done to rear bumper on driver side, but put back to original condition by selling dealer. Very pleased so far, as car is mint and does not appear to be using oil, although, I have only done 300 miles since buying it.
  12. What model is the Zenec unit, where did you buy it and will it fit in place of a Swing unit. It looks like a really nice unit.
  13. I fitted a Columbus unit to my wife's MY13 Fabia II 1.2 TSi Dsg SE yesterday. I bought the unit on eBay and was concerned by some of the posts that I had seen about compatibility. It was delivered at 14.30 and was in and working by 14.30. I took out the swing (dead easy), installed the GPS antenna on top of the top glove box and routed the cable to back of Columbus. I did try it underneath the dash, but it would read says properly, so had to put it on top. Connected up the other two cables and the block connected, All worked perfectly. The sound is a big improvement on the original Swing unit. Phone and Sat Nav work great, as does CD and HDD. The only things that don't work are the Nav directions on the MFD and the Vice control. I never used this on my Octy VRs Bolero so not too bothered. I hope to get the MFD sorted with using the VCDS to enable this. All in all, I am really chuffed with the unit. From getting the Swing removed, it only took 15 mins to fit. I would reccomend this to any Fabia II owners! I don't have Dab, however, on my MY14 Octy VRs, it was a waste of space....crap reception all the time! Fabiamk2SE was a great help for this task.....thanks mate!
  14. I installed the unit today after receiving it by DHL. It was a piece of cake to fit, although, I eventually had to put the GPS aerial on top of the dash, as it would not read correctly underneath it. Everything works a treat. Sound is better than Swing unit. Phone works great as well. The only thing that does. It work is Nav instructions on MFD display, but guess this is a VCDS issue. The unit was bought off eBay and was in mint condition, with original Radio code card and all warranty strips intact. Very pleased with the unit and the fit. It was literally a 20 min job. I will try and locate Fubar and see if I can get the MFD working on Nav. Thanks for your help Fabiamk2SE
  15. Thanks for the info. It's white lettering on black background and says MFD. I had a colour Maxidot in my Octy VRs, so can't compare if same. All I need is someone local in NI to help with the VCDS coding. I couldn't get anywhere with the list on this site, it doesn't link to people.
  16. Thanks Fabiamk2SE, I bought a unit yesterday on eBay and take delivery on Tuesday. I have Swing unit in wife's car and hope it will be a straight swap and that the existing surround will fit. I will need to get someone in Northern Ireland to do the VCDS programming for me, as it would be good to get as many features working as possible. The car has a nice little MFD which I assume will display Nav and music info. It also has electronic AC system, but not sure if that will work. Thanks
  17. Butchvrs, have you still got the Columbus unit for sale?
  18. My wife has a 2013 Fabia 1.2 TSi which has a 7 speed box. I love to dive this car, it is super fast, has a rip snotty note when accelerating and has a truly sublime gearbox! We just got it serviced today @ 28,000 miles. Needs new front rubber and had to put new disks and pads on the front. I recently sold my 14 Skoda Octavia VRs and bought a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD geartronic Polestar. It's a real mean machine, but I still love to drive my wife's Fabia. It the best car she ever had, and that includes a MKI Diesel Fabia VRs.

Old Stan, are you a grumpy git in the flesh, as well as on the forum. Lighten up mate, people come here for advice, not to be slagged off!
  20. Thanks Neil, Going to do that and will see if they contact the Dealer before I get there on Friday. Also just noticed that both front gaiters are ripped. I don't see anything on the rear shocks but probably need to jack the car up to check properly.
  21. My suspension has been killing me since day 1. I have even been considering changing the car. I have had my car 7 months and have done 10,500 miles. It's had its first service. I complained about the ride height when I picked the car up, as it looked like a 4x4 with large gaps between tyre and wheel arches all round. I was told it was normal. After reading this thread, I went out with a torch... Guess what, I have the same plastic blocks fitted!! I am so mad. I will be down to my dealer on Friday when I get the chance. Can't go tomorrow, as I have a 180 mile round trip with work. My front tyres are also shot after 10K miles, completely worn smooth on the outer edge of both tyres. Dealer is Mervyn Stewart in Belfast. Anybody else that has a new VRS from them, please check your front suspension. I will update you all when I have confronted the dealer.
  22. My wife has arthritic hands and struggles every time now with this filler cap. Whilst I can get it every time, ladies seem to have an issue with it. I am dropping down to skoda today to see if I can simply get a non-locking cap for this. I recently got a new Octavia vRS and it has a locking flap connected to the central locking.
  23. I am a week into driving my new Octavia 3 vRS hatch. It has massive wheel arch clearance, worse at the font and looks almost like a big 4x4. The ride quality is horrendous and bone jarring. How I am going to cope with this for 3 years, I don't know. Don't believe the brochure pictures, as they do not depict the real life car.
  24. Yes, my car is a week old (vRS TDI Hatch) and yesterday I started getting a rattle from the rear RHS suspension unit. It may have been there from day 1, but this the first day I have had the radio off. I am really struggling with the suspension, its rock hard and any deviation in the road surface feeds back to the car like a minor explosion. I also notice that my car looks like its on steroids, I have a 4 icy gap between the top of the front tyres and the wheel arch and a 2 inch one at the back. It almost looks like its a 4x4. Anybody else noticed this. I thought as it had sporting pretentious that like my last car, a BMW, the tyres would be pretty close to the wheel arches. I may look to downsize to 17 icy wheels and a 45 profile tyre to try and get a bit more comfort.
