  1. If anyone is looking for a Chip Express Tuning box for the 2.0 TDI PD140, I have an auction on ebay at the mo......see item 330421188959. Sold the car now hence its up for grabs.. Cheers
  2. Its all very concerning....... what with the possibility that an insurance company might refuse a payout in the event of an accident if the trailer/caravan was over 1400 kgs. Think i will need to get something in writing from SUK......would be interested to know what it says on the V5 for a Scout ??
  3. Hi All, I need a definitive answer on the Braked Towing Limit for the FL CR VRS Estate - seen it quoted as both 1400 kgs and 1600 kgs The Pre FL PD VRS was definately 1400 kgs. It's quoted in the vehicle details part of the V5, so if you have the above could you check your V5 and let me know...? Thanks in advance...
  4. Do you have to make any direct connections to the battery ?
  5. What's anyone's best guess as to when the next generation of the Octy will make an appearance ? Given that the average life for each generation of car seems to be 6 or 7 years, are we looking at 2011..?
  6. I had intermittent problems with my factory fitted rear sensors.....dealers sorted it. Not sure what they replaced but its been perfect ever since in all weathers.
  7. Yeah it definately powers off with "goodbye" when i turn off the ignition. Pretty sure that the battery is knackered but the dealer wants to disconnect the Parrot to prove it is that causing the drain.
  8. Does the 2.0 CR TDI have a cam belt or chain driven cams ?
  9. It only comes on when the ignition is on and works whether the radio/cd is on or off......can only presume the installer found a switched live somewhere behind there....
  10. Did they make any modification to the radio/cd before fitting the new battery to stop it happening again ?
  11. I've got a 2007 Octy 2.0 TDI with battery problems - not enough in the battery to start the car after a couple of days. Dealer is saying that my Parrot hands free maybe causing the problem in that it does not allow the car to go into sleep mode and is thus draining the battery. I've had the car from new and the Parrot has been fitted for over 2 years, but the battery problem has only surfaced during this cold spell. Has anyone else heard of any such issues with hands free devices.....?? Meant to mention that i've got the CK3200 LS model which is wired into the stereo and uses the car's speakers... Thanks...
  12. Thanks for all your replies. Waiting to hear from SUK.....fingers crossed !!
  13. Thanks Ian. Looks like they specced up the battery on post 07 models....the battery box appears big enough to take the bigger one so i think the extra £15 or so will be worth spending. Hoping it'll be Skoda UK doing the spending rather than me though. Can only try i guess !!
  14. Thanks FriendlyFire. Always wondered what those codes meant in the service book.....great tool that. It seems that it's got the correct battery (JON)......just a bit surprised that its given up the ghost after 28 months and 28k miles. Dealer says the battery is only covered for 12 montths....might give SUK a call and ask their opinion.
  15. I've got a 2007/57 Octy 2.0TDI DSG with a dead battery. Been searching for a replacement and have been told that its a 067/096 fitment which has a 75ah rating measuring 278x175x190. I've had the car from new and its on the original battery, but it's only a 61ah rated one and is 249mm long not 278mm ?? My question is has the wrong battery been fitted during production ?? Seems that 61ah is not really enough for a 2.0 diesel ?? Cheers.....off out now to attach the charger again...!!
