  1. I have had this also recently, still happening. Have had a vRS for 2 years, been fine no problems. About 3 weeks ago went right around a corner, power steering (orange light), tyre pressure light and ESP switched off light all came on together. The lights stay on until ignition switched off, and stay on when ignition on, until you drive in a straight line for 50 yards, then power steering light goes off and the tyre pressure and ESP light go off a minute or so after. This keeps happening, and always following a sharp(ish) right turn. The car drives fine, no difference at all from normal. Any ideas? Don't want to get ripped off by dealer for expensive new parts if it is only the sensor playing up. Next service is November, inclined to leave it until then, it might sort itself out? EDIT: forgot to mention, it's a petrol, and I have tried the full lock fix as in other threads - didn't work.
  2. Since Saturday I've done about 50 miles, in about 8 starts (in V cold weather) and the time to service has gone from 500 to 300 miles. Is this how variable servicing works or have I got a problem?
  3. Mileage will be less than 12000 pa, so fixed sounds like the one to me. The questions I have now though are; Should I get the car serviced now? Or get the indicator reset and wait? Can't believe I need an oil change after 1200 miles?
  4. November 2009, didn't know changing the service type affected the warranty?
  5. Thanks chaps, I'm calling the dealer on Monday. Do you think I should change to fixed service on the basis of my driving pattern (see first post)? I don't have a problem with regular services, (just not every 1200 miles!)
  6. Hi all I bought a 2.0TFSI vRS in November, 56 plate, 2 years old, from Progress Skoda in Bedford. It's on variable servicing (according to the service history) and was last serviced in October 2008 with 16200 on the clock. In December I bought a Bluefin remap, and the car has been going really well. However today my service indicator light came on, saying 500 miles till next service. I have done 1200 miles since the last service, was wondering how this is possible? Looking at the fixed/variable info, my driving pattern seems to match the fixed service, as I do frequent short journeys, and have been driving it more aggressively at times (checking out the Bluefin ) but always keeping the revs below 4000 till fully warmed up. I'll be giving the dealer a call on Monday to discuss, but has anyone else experienced this? Could they have set it to fixed by accident on the last service? I know the Bluefin will reduce the service intervals, but 1200 miles seems a bit short. The car still drives great, no problems at all. Thanks in advance.
  7. Just wanted to agree about the Bluefin. Have had mine a week, it's just like the car has 'woken up'. Just so much more responsive all round, and the performance at higher revs is scary:thumbup: It's good value for money at the moment with the 20% offer as well. Just filled up with V-power for the weekend so will give it a blast on that... My last car was a Leon Cupra, always wanted a remap, and thought I would do it once out of warranty, but then never got around to it. I bought an 06 Octy vRS a month ago, 1 year left on the main warranty, but it's just had a service so I thought may as well go for it now. I would recommend it:flipgrin:
  8. It's a new mat, was advertised as new, and arrived new in the Skoda packaging. I would be amazed that anyone would offer a warranty on a mat. Its' only 50 quid FFS! Besides the ebay seller are a Skoda dealer in Mansfield, so I should have the same protection as if I walked in and bought it from them?
  9. I've just bought one of the genuine ones off ebay, it says for Octy hatch 05 > so should be OK; 2005> SKODA OCTAVIA A5 HATCHBACK BOOTLINER FREE P&P on eBay, also Floor Mats Flooring, Interior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 29-Dec-08 18:51:21 GMT) Same price as from a dealer, but free postage and I haven't had to order one, wait for deleivery, then go fetch it from 20 miles away. Fits my 56 VRS perfectly, ideal for keeping the grass and mud from my golf gear from ruining the carpet.
  10. I loved my Cupra, had it from new, lasted me 7 years, don't get me wrong, it was pretty quick, but the ride was quite hard, and for me the boot wasn't big enough (golfer, so need space for the clubs, trolley etc) The vRS is better equipped, smoother ride, good handling, 2.0 litre 200bhp vs 1.8 180 bhp on the Leon(standard, unmapped) so it is quicker. And a HUGE boot for my golf gear!
  11. Hi I just paid 10.5k for a 56 plate vRS 2.0FSI, 16k, parking sensors, cruise control, jumbo box, front/rear electric windows . That was from Progress Skoda in Bedford, so an approved dealer, got 12 months warranty etc. Happy with the price, the dealers were friendly and didn't give me the 'hard sell' DELIGHTED with the car!! Coming from a Leon Cupra 1.8T (broken conrod, punctured sump, ouch. Written off) The Octy vRS beats the pants off the Leon. Tried the diesel but it wasn't for me, good though it was.
