  1. The upgrade will be seemless if its like for like! Im sure i posted an upgrade chart awhile back, if not google it! I went for a clean install of Win7 Ultimate x64! Installed fine, maybe even easier as it tries to help you out with drivers once its up and running. No problems or concern! IMO!
  2. Have you been on a bus recently? I havent since a lad till last week when i got one to the shops (to take road tax for my Fabia) . . . Cost me £2.70 for something that was 39pence when we were nippers! I couldnt believe it! :thumbdwn: Trust me OP - the Fabia is cheaper!
  3. Based on what you said your going to use it for - Why buy new? Buy some P4 jobbie off ebay for like £50,you dont need to spend more!
  4. Hmmmm - A mixed response! From the way people spoke of their Fabia's i was expecting a more regretted response.
  5. Good afternoon, This one is aimed to those who've Sold Fab vRS's in the past. As one or two of you know, Non freedom advertising. Im in two minds about it. Ive never "loved" the car, like my Golf before it. But ive always "liked" the Fab. Looking at a for sale thread has made me look at the car differently, and it sounds great in the thread. Just wanted the opinion of people who have sold Fabia's before really! What did you buy? How did it live up to the Fabia? did going back to a petrol Turbo (such as a Golf GTi) have a big effect on your wallet? And importantly . . . DID ANYONE SELL THEIR FABIA vRS TO ONLY END UP BACK IN ONE?
  6. So if the phone is in my shirt pocket (where it started for the journey) and it rings, would it be considered illegal to answer it on hands free? Ive always thought of it as legal . . . hence doing it!
  7. Pete, Surely Orange offer webmail? If so - just use that to check mail on the move!
  8. Is the tape an optional extra? Sorry - couldnt resist. Not liking that bumper - Its the MK1's front bumper that makes the car . . .
  9. So no one here has never answered the phone when driving? Ive always gone for mobile handsets that have handsfree built in, just to get around this problem. A quick "I know you can barely hear me, Im driving, I'll call you in x . . ." is always better then the thing ringing constantly. - Is answering the handset illegal? Just pressing the accept call button and then the handsfree button i mean? Its surely the lesser of two evils? With my (now ex) missus (and afew other people) She call a good few times before she gave up for abit . . . which is equally distracting as just answering the thing!
  10. Big United fan here! Sorry - Big DISAPOINTED United fan here! We've played some terrible stuff as of late - but as pointed out once or twice already . . . Thats United for you until the wild xmas party! When we play poor we still grind out points, and thats what makes us great! However, i dont think the team as a whole have been too bad. Just afew individuals need to step it up a gear IMO.
  11. Live on a hill - always park in gear. So every single car ive had, has been started with the clutch pressed.
  12. Seriously? Im anything but a professional golfer or a professional putter in boot but ive just bought a driver that i can only fit in the boot if it goes in at a certain angle. A bag would never fit!
  13. I owned a MK4 Golf before my Fabia . . . id guess with confidence the Fabia is smaller then a Golf inside! I noticed straight away, with the size of the drivers door. However, id say big enough providing you've no family! Kind of a spot on size if you only use the rear seats on the odd occasion. The boots not massive, not small. It'll hold golf clubs, but wouldnt hold a set in a bag!
  14. Joe, i'll give it ago! Where can i get these from? Any shop?
  15. Thanks. Hes said what hes bought - But not been specific, so ive no idea what to buy! :( This is probably super stupid, but would standard springs (or aftermarket) springs not fit with the coilovers? Curing A the noise and still allowing me to lower?
  16. A lot quieter is good . . . I need it silent though! If i cant get it sorted i'll end up selling the car - It just makes the car sounds like an MOT failure! The looks i get parking in work are dreadful! I cant afford to replace the coilovers and removing them . . . well, might aswell sell it if i cant get it how i want it. These helper springs seem to be the way for the win, but im that knowledge-less when it comes to cars i need someone to tell me exactly what to buy and then i need to get someone to fit it! Can anyone save the Fabia? - Before i start looking at an Octavia to keep standard! :(
  17. Sorry to sound stupid (that'll happen alot with anything car technical). But ive had a read through this post, with mentions of helper springs and collars etc and - well i dont understand. Im getting the impression that regardless of car going completely silent when drenched with water people think this horrible noise isnt bush related? Completely lost! :(
  18. I wont be changing my wheels or anything like that! The tyres are new - Probably done a thousand miles! I'll be switching to plenty of winter screen wash, as soon as it starts going on mainstream sale. The car is due a service before we should get any horrible weather - I always try and get this done! Ive always got abit of deicer with me - Infact, a can has been sat in the glove box all summer. But i end up grabbing afew big cans and chuck them in the boot!
  19. Cant say im a fan, sorry. Carbon fibre just doesnt do it for me! :( A black roof would have looked the business IMO, its on my to do list!
  20. Well done to you OP! Its not something i could do, which makes me respect you ten folds!
  21. Ive never got more then £42 in the car!?! Glad to see im not the only one pulling the 400mark to a normal tank of fuel . . . I was beginning to suspect there was something wrong! However thinking about it - my last tank of fuel was all town driving, 90% of my driving is!
