  6. just bought our first Yeti today. 140 adventure in silver. well our lass did plus delivered in a couple of weeks time. 0 I've got to say it nearly didn't happen as we tipped up at MSB skoda in Darlo to check out an Elegance 140 Demo but it wasn't in! after speaking to the manager he sorted out a test drive in 140 Yeti (top man). our lass fell in love with the car instantly. cant wait to get it now. it has a cracking spec and I was mega impressed with the drive: very smooth. we have had four Skoda's so far - : a Fabia VRS (red) 2007 our lass bought that for me I loved that car and sold it for her big sister an octy vrs. A Fabia 1.4 TDI (3 cyl) fabia a 1.6 CR TDI Scout. Just got to say MSB motors Darlo manager your a top man straight talking no flannel and you impressed the missus to buy a car once again top bloke. so we are looking fwd to our new baby (Yeti Adv in Silver) so theirs a great looking fabia scout in red 2011 fully specked up in MSB Darlo in two weeks time in mint condition.22k on clock fsh. now i need to sell the four steel wheel winter tyres 205 45 16's 8 months use (two winters)
  7. Thanks for the replys and I think Haptmann is correct the more performance then your bound to use it. The difference between the 1.4TDI and the Greenline is 8.5 MPG. So their must be some differences in the ECU Map. If anyone out there has had a Fabia II 1.4 TDI mapped for Economy then please let me know the differnces in MPG and Performance.
  8. Hi all I bought my wife a Fabia II 1.4 TDI but actually wanted a Fabia Greenline but I would have had to wait three months for a new one. Any way lets get to the point. I have a Fabia VRS Mapped at PD-Tuning and whilst having 312mm Octavia VRS brakes fitted I enquired about the Fabia 1.4 TDI and the Greenline MPG. Dave the Mechanic said most Diesel Engine Tuners are now starting to run Maps on the normal 1.4 TDI and they are returning over 10 MPG more than the standard 1.4 TDI so nearing the Greenlines MPG So at a one off cost of £120 you should get 10mpg more and the turbo should kick in earlier so not having to use the boot to push the car which again should save fuel. Does anyone else out there know of such Maps. Supposedly only three lines in the ECU software need changing to match the Greenline I know the car is for efficiency but for the sake of £120 quid within several refuels its paid for itself.
  9. Just been to Dave's this weekend. Saw an advertiesment on BRISKODA and rang him up. Now I'm an amature when it comes to Chiping or Remaping a car however I've read loads about it and decided to take the Plunge. I had contacted sevreal companies which were going to tip up at my house with a laptop programme the ECU and take the car for a test drive. For the pleasure it would have been £300 plus thankyou very much. However after a call to Dave I was certain this was the right approach. Dave mentioned that he had invested quite substantially in a rolling road he even has his own VRS which he uses to test his Remaps. He booked me in that day due to a BMW not being able to keep his appointment. I tipped up Last Saturday at 3.30pm. I'm certainly in the right place. An M5 BMW was on the rolling road and a group of lads were eagerly waiting for the next run. My youngest lad (11) and I were amazed the BMW sounded like a F1 racing car reving in pole position. I'm not sue of the actual outcome but I'm sure it was over 500BHP. I was taken out in Daves VRS and he asked me loads of questions on what I had in mind. I gave his car a little spin and was very impressed. I decided to have the live remap done for Fuel economy and the extra BHP and Torque to get out of those sticky situations you find when an A3 wont let you out of the second Lane into the fast lane when an Artic decides it's time to pull out (we have all been there). First impression after the Live rolling road remap. Fuel economy so far is amazing I'm not driving like miss Daisy but I'm returning 65-70 MPG at 50MPH at 70 -80 I'm getting 63.9MPG Now I know it's early days but watch this space for other car owners that have had their Remap Done at Dave's PDTuning Garage in Bolden. This String will be massive. Cheers Dave
  10. Hi all, Yes I'm a newbie but have been looking at the website for several weeks. I have a Red 2007 Fabia VRS It's a right Jeckle and Hyde car. From the moment I got behind the wheel I was hooked. I can return over 60MPG on my way to work (Durham to Milton Keynes) plus give the car a little push with the right foot and that grin fills my face instantly. I've had some fast vauxhalls in the past 2.5 SRI V6 Vectra, SRI140 Vectra Astra SRI etc.. etc.. but this little Skoda is brill. I haven't modified the car yet!!! But soon to do so. I've contacted Celtic Tune they have a special at the moment (£300) but I'm still undecided. I've also heard good things from Jabba but they seem a little expensive £400 for the stage 2 Remap. Are there any other reputable firms that also do remaps out there or does anyone know whats the best value for money remap? I'm also looking at buying Zenon headlights does anyone know where I could pick up a set other than going to a main dealer. Dave
