I went in there a few weeks ago as I was thinking about returning to Skoda ownership and wanted a good look at the Octy vRS. I rolled up in the S2000 but the staff couldn't have been more inept or dis-interested. They weren't interested in discussing a test drive as they didn't have a petrol one and had no idea when they'd get one in. Basically they couldn't be arsed even though I was a genuine buyer prepared to spend nigh on £20k. ******************** As for me I ended up buying a Ford!!!

Unfortunately it happens to the best of us..... I got 'stung' the same recently on an Audi A4 TDi that had full Audi service history. The car had 55k miles and the service book stated that the cambelt was due at 80k miles. We purchased the car but then out of curiosity did some more digging and realised that the cambelt should be changed at 60k miles!! It was only then that I called the dealer that had performed the last service and they actually told me that they had advised that the cambelt should be changed as part of the last service but the previous owner (knowing the car was going) declined to get the work done. Hey ho.... only

Shock absorbers ruined by Molegrips
Jimmy replied to fab fabia's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Did the garage supply and fit the shocks? If so don't you have some sort of guarantee (12 mths / 12k miles or similar) -
Cheers fellas..... Must admit I quite like the Mazda MPS and the ST220. The latter can be had for sub 10k so that would free up some cash to drop a 1.8T into the Mk2 and have some fun

1.6 gearbox oil filler?
Jimmy replied to billygeorge's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman
Bill, take a chill pill fella -
Although I love my S2000 to bits the simple fact is I think I need something more 'practical' so I need to re-consider my current transport arrangements.

I sympathise. I bought Octy #1 in black magic and vowed NEVER to get another black car due to the hassle keeping it clean. Then I spotted Octy #2 in black magic so bought that. When I came to sell that I vowed NEVER EVER to get another black car...... Now I've got the S2000 in..........erm........... BLACK!!!

Anyone near Stansted Airport willing to do me a favour?
Jimmy replied to Xavier's topic in The Roadside Hotel
Xav If you're flying from East Midlands get in touch with the Hilton. They do deals on overnight accomodation (the night before you fly for example) and transport to / from the airport plus you can park your car in the hotel carpark for the duration. Ok so it's not as good as someones driveway for eaxmple but maybe worth a thought and we're planning on doing the same this year.... -
Buying back your written off car?
Jimmy replied to Carl VRS's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Nope. It'll only be Cat C or cat D if written off by the ins co. -
Aye that's the fella.... not the best winter car on the market I'll be honest

Alright fellas..... I've been round and about and round a few roundabouts (sometimes sideways). Not got a skoda anymore but still sneak a cheeky glance everytime I see an Octy vRS.... The mk2 has grown on me too.

Cheers guys although I'm sure it's now long gone the journey. Shame though as it was a nice car...... Police had said that older models are being targetted more now due to newer models being harder to nick (no consolation to Mr G though) Anyway, it's only a car at the end of the day but it's still a right **** sorting it all out.
