Eivind replied to adamal's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I changed the turbo on my BKD engine, the new one whistles just like the one i threw out. No more sticky vanes though. -

allmost done now, so we'll see how it responds when I crank it up. pretty sure it needs som coding towards the specific car but don't know what or why.

Hi, I'm just about to install a used mechatronic in my 06 Octavia . It has previous been installed in a touran i think. As i've been told it needs to be coded to the spesific car. does anybody know how to do that, login codes etc. I have a micro-can, and am familiar with it but no expert. its a HQL box if that matters. All help is highly apreciated.

Hi. I seem to have bricked my Columbus, after an atempt to upgrade to FW 2764. trying 1164 now, and i'm wondering are there any differences between using cd or dvd? Any good ideas are deeply appreciated.
-
thanks for the replies, I'll try that.
-
I guess I have to try that, regardless of the bricking risk.

so the 3to can newer work with maxidot? I thought the gateway was the controlling factor for the maxidot. No hope then?

Hi. Been searching the forums, but can't really find an answer. I've installed a 3to rns with 1200 firmware, and gsm III (i think), in a 2005 ocavia II. The can gateway is new (AD), but the maxidot display has no response. I can see nav and audio info but the wiper stalk does not work, and the maxidot freezes until I turn the hu off. bap is currently disabled. Do I need bap, or is the only way to get a fw upgrade? must admit I'm a little reluctant to start messin with the hu, as everything else works just great.

Got my new Headunit, now for the speakers
Eivind replied to Yaminchi's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
why don't you just go and listen to a pair of decent 16,5 cm speakers, find some you like, and install them. if the speakers are ok, it will be an improvement regardless of cables or anything. The infinity's are good, but personally I think the tweeters were a little to loud. I went for polk audio's db6501. They are easily driven by your headunit, and sounds good in my opinion. Need a little work to get the tweeters in place, but looks factory installed with a little effort. -
2.0 TDI PD - engine vibration advice please
Eivind replied to AndrewW's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Have you tried any diesel aditives? Mine is juddering now and then around 2000 rpm, and I throw in a bottle of tunap or wurth injection cleaner. -
Yes, actually I had already bought it when I posted this. Started thinking afterwards about if I needed it.

I already have one, but get all these faultcodes on open circuit on radio antenna. I'm not impressed by the radio reception either, so I was thinking this might help(if it fits).

"FAKRA VW Antenne RadioADAPTER RCD510 RNS510 RNS RCD MFD" This is an Y adapter that goes on the back of the Columbus. Can anyone please tell me what this is used for, Is this something i need on a rns in a 06 Octy with only one antenna? Item on ebay

bluetooth vs. rSAP phone vs. tomtom vs..
Eivind replied to mr.nik's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I installed an original bluetooth unit, that after my understanding is RSAP. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that it has no GSM antenna. only the square small bluetooth antenna. Does all RSAP systems work the way described above, or are there such things as "semi RSAP"? -
Mine doesn't work stable in cold weather, it's like that every winter. But I get a continuous tone when the signal is unreliable.

How can I stop skidding down hill?
Eivind replied to luke_a's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Assuming you have abs brakes, I would use that rather than engine for decelerating. Engine is ok to hold speed with, but I'm cautious about it when it's very slippy. With the climae here in Norway, I use spikes. -
Is there an easy way to check that? It said "SW 11" on the sticker on the unit, does that mean firmware version? (assuming it hasn't been updated)
-
I had a second try, and everything worked fine suddenly without me doing anything. only thing left now is to see if there will be any juice left in the battery in the morning. probably not, since it's a 3TO vs a F can gateway.

Hello, I'm hoping someone can give me a clue what I've done wrong. I have just changed my mfd 2 for a columbus, and it's dead quiet. I've tried to change the longcoding for the radio, but am not sure what to put in.

I have had pretty much the same symptoms with my 2.0 tdi. Misfires and jerks at 1800rpm, under medium load. I assumed it was due to sticking vnt or filthy trottlevalve. I cleaned the trottle and egr housing, threw in a couple of wurth injecion cleaner bottles, and driving it much harder and on higher revs than I use to. The car now behaves as normal, and i hope it will stay that way. Good luck.

Hello everybody. I´ve been trying to disable egr on my pd140. I read some instructions in the FAQ at tdiclub.com. This procedure did not seem to apply to the BKD engine. Does anybody know if it´s possible to allow my car to breathe fresh air instead of exhaust? (I don´t care to much if emission requirements are not met) Can I simply pull off the vacuum hose on the egr valve without screwing up something? Eivind S.
