  1. Car only done 28000 miles. Also, does anyone know the location and number of the lp fuel pump relay?
  2. Can anyone help. This morning - amber engine light illuminated - no problems driving OBDII fault code read P2540 - Low fuel pressure system sensor circuit range / performance. Revved engine to 6500 rpm, when revs dropped to idle engine died and refused to restart. Replaced inline fuel filter - engine eventually started, very lump until revs held mid range, engine now appears normal, however; Fault code P2540 (as above) still pending - no light. I don't believe changing the fuel filter has cured the fault, maybe just helped. My thoughts are to change the Low pressure fuel sensor?? Is there another filter on the LP fuel pump? Any advice will be appreciated. Chris.
  3. I agree 205 tyres will perform better (slightly) than 225's. But they are only 20mm wider. Not exactly massive. Also I have never pranged an alloy in the past with summer tyres on so it would be pure bad luck if I were to. Regardless of how an 18" winter tyre will perform it will be considerably better... I hope, than summer tyres.
  4. No. Marangoni are Italian. Did a bit of research into them, they are a Smallish company and believe they are more widely used on the continent. I believe the are also into Motorsport. Im considering getting some new 18's in the new year.... choices choices.
  5. If you are looking to get some winter rubber this year, check out Kwik Fit online. Excellent prices on Marangoni Meteo HP. I just paid £104/each Fitted for 225/40/18. Chris.
  6. I know there is a Tyres Section but I thought I would put this post here for more views. I have just ordered x4 Marangoni Meteo HP Winter tyres 225/40/18 from Kwik Fit at £104 each, fitted. Great price so I thought I would share it. Some good reading on Tyre Review website, probably not the best winter tyre but at that price I was sold. Other websites such as MyTyres and Pneus Online they are priced around £140. Chris.
  7. What is the load rating required for 205/55/16 winter tyres on a 57 VRS petrol? The spare on my car is a 91.
  8. Does anyone know the torque figure and angle for these engine mount bolts?
  9. Why do you need to replace engine mounting bolts? What is so special about them?

  11. Anyone else? Getting paranoid about it now.
  12. I made a quick video with drivers window down. or search YouTube VRS TFSI Whine that link wouldn't play on my iPhone.
  13. VRS TFSI, 57 plate, cambelt due November. 19000 miles. no modifications... yet. I have noticed a whine from the engine which is most noticeable above 4000rpm. It does not sound nasty but to me does not sound right. I've had a stethescope on the alternator and air con compressor and didn't sound to be from them. Anyone else have this... Could simply be how the motor sounds. I would appreciate if on your way to work tomorrow you could slowly bring the revs up and listen for any whining. I can notice it at standstill and also when accelerating in gear. So I have ruled out the gearbox. Many thanks.
  14. Did you get this sorted? What was the problem?
  15. As title suggests. What is the best sounding intake which will make the soundtrack of a VRS addictive like a type-r?
