  1. Not been here for ages.. i agree on the small and boring wheels Skoda UK have chosen the Scala looks frumpy. But on the bigger, more stylish wheels and in a nice colour it’s a pretty good looking car: https://www.auto.cz/galerie/novinky/69088/prvni-upravci-jiz-nabizeji-tuning-skody-scala-mala-krabicka-prida-az-29-koni?foto=0
  2. One of the most stupid things George Osborne did as chancellor. It removed the incentive for buying more economical cars and it now means that in some cases you can buy an older (possibly less clean) car and pay less in road tax than a new one.
  3. Thanks.. guess the handling should be better on the Monte with the supension drop and therefore lower centre of gravity, but on the flipside do you notice the ride being worse than on the SE?
  4. I'm considering swapping my 2012 Citigo for a new one.. other than the spec changes (string in boot, new infotainment etc) have they made any noticeable improvements to refinement over the years? Just wondering whether anyone who has owned or driven both old and newer has noticed whether they've improved the sound insulation for engine or road noise and stuff like that. Thanks :)
  5. Had this on mine shortly after buying it (secondhand), had discs and pads replaced and no problems since (about 2 years ago)
  6. Hard to put a number on it but after doing the recalibration it's much much better (although not perfect)
  7. Had issues with my Rapid with this engine and tried the trick above and it really works, much more driveable now
  8. Haven't checked in here for ages but I too find it tricky moving off/driving round town with the TSI 110. Never had this issue with the old chain-driven 1.2TSI, in fact you could drive that on the clutch with no throttle at all quite easily. However, I had a 17 plate Rapid 110 as a courtesy car the other day and it was much better (although not perfect) so I guess they have made some changes since mine was built. I'm hoping it's software and that they will be able to update mine when it's in for it's service shortly.
  9. I don't know why Skoda don't do a factory fit sports suspension option for the Rapid. Every other Skoda model has the option, apart from the Yeti.
  10. Apparently the Yeti2 will not share the Ateca's dashboard (good news)
  11. It is. Don't know how similar the bodyshell will be but the Ateca will have more in common with the Yeti2 than the Kodiaq.
  12. You do know he is a personal friend of David Cameron? I'm actually not coming from this from the position of being a pro-Brexit conspiracy theorist, and I'm not suggesting he's been paid for it. It just seemed a bit fishy to me that someone like Clarkson would suddenly be pro-Europe, unless the character he plays on screen is significantly different from the real Jeremy Clarkson.
  13. I wonder which Downing Street spin doctor wrote Jeremy Clarkson's column in the Sunday Times today in which he came out as a europhile?
  14. Looks like interior/tech changes for MY17, full facelift later for the 'go then:
  15. I would normally lean towards in but I can't abide the negative campaigning tactics being used by the remain side. What I would ask Cameron right now is if exiting the EU puts us in such grave danger why did he call a referendum in the first place?
  16. Presume the Sportline will be available with most/all of the engine options like the Monte ranges.
  17. It seems the facelift Citigo will come a bit later than the Up! According to info on a Czech forum it won't start production until week 45 but it will look significantly different to the current car in order to bring it into line with other Skoda models.
  18. As well as low interest rates, the ability of banks to magic money up out of nowhere has a big part to play (also why they pay such poor interest rates on savings) On the other hand, because of that I don't believe interest rates can go as high as you mentioned ever again. There would be mass repossessions, house prices would crash and the banks would be, err, bankrupt (and we can't let that happen can we) Supply and demand is only a small part of the problem:
  19. If it's from 2013 it will be the 8v (cam chain, not belt)
  20. ^^That's a photoshop but might not be far off reality.
  21. Don't want to put you off, the Fabia Monte is a really nice car and the engine is still good. It's probably a bit more long legged being a 16v and having more top end power but it doesn't have the same low down grunt as the old engine.
