  1. Nice one Del - took me 20 minutes and no broken bits! Perfect AM & FM for the sake of £35. Bargain. Thanks!!
  2. As per Holmsie above - autoglm interior shampoo is good stuff, but best done on a warm day so that it can dry out.
  3. Hi, I hope someone on here can help? Car is Fabia mk1 vRS. After a botched repair by DM Keith (York) my passenger side front door is missing an interior trim piece/ seal - I have indicated this in the attached pic (not my car - but best I could find on web, although it shows rear door). It is basically the piece which stops you seeing down inside the inside of the window and prevents some road noise entering the car. Part name and number gratefully received. Many thanks, Craig

  5. Hi all, I need a replacement bonnet after some buffoon threw a traffic cone at my car recently (it was parked outside my house overnight) - leaving a rather unsightly double dent - unluckily it landed right on the right hand crease of the bonnet, so the repair I have been quoted comes at a rather eye watering £325! I see on ebay you can get brand new sprayed ones for c.£250, but hoped to get one second hand. Anyone on here breaking a black magic mk1 fabia? If I get a replacement bonnet, are they 'easy' to fit? Thanks, Craig
  6. Hello all, just thought I would share my experience. After much deliberation regarding ipod connectivity I plumped for an xcarlink one. It seemed to offer everything the rivals did at a much more competitive price (just over £80 inc del). I've just installed it in my Fabia under the flap in the glove box. The trickiest bit was getting the head unit (HU) out (I tried Kenwood keys, hacksaw blades, credit cards etc.), but I resorted to Halfords, but did charge me 3.99 for 5 minutes work.... I removed the glove box - there are 5 torx screws holding it in, temporarily disconnect the light and the air con pipe, so once the glove box is out you can drill a nice neat hole to feed the ipod cable through. The xcarlink unit is sat up behind the glove box - tucked well out of the way held in place with a couple of zip ties. Initial impressions are good, and unlike the Denison Gateway you can retain your 6 disc changer (if you have one) without having to fork out extra. You can create 5 playlists on your ipod (2-6 on symphony) which you can control from the HU, whilst 1 on the symphony lets you control the ipod direct (great if you've not put it in the glove box!). Cheers, Craig
  7. Hi. I'm looking at getting one of these, but do I have to remove the top left 'blank' as per the picture in an earlier post? - This is a heated seat control in my car, so I'm a bit wary of fiddling with it. Any help gratefully received.
  8. Thanks very much for the replies - will give them a try.
  9. Hello, I have an 05 Fabia vRS - everything great, but during cold weather coolant warning light and audible alarm comes on when ignition is turned. This stays on, but if I turn off ignition (once engine has warmed up a bit) and restart the alarm doesn't come on.... Coolant level is fine, and took it to local Skoda dealer for them to check it over, and they can find nothing wrong. Anybody any ideas, as it's a bit un-nerving. Thanks.
  10. Hello all. I have recently bought an 05 plate black Fabia vRS as a Christmas prezzie, and I love it. Heated seats, cruise and a disc changer all factory fitted - something of a step-up from my old polo! One thing though - in cold weather the coolant warning light comes on (with audible alarm) and stays on. Coolant level is ok - also took it to local Skoda dealer to let them look over it and they say they can find nothing wrong. Once car is warm if you turn off ignition, and re-start the warning no longer appears. Any ideas anyone? It is a bit un-nerving. Many thanks.
