  1. As above, KBP has said what I was thinking.
  2. As the others have said, you've got a towbar and electrics fitted, but your missing the detachable towball. I have a spare detachable towball, I kept from my last Octavia. It's a Witter. See if you can identify what make of system you have.... Although it would cost a fortune to post due to weight.
  3. Can I ask where your getting wheels refurbed and how much. I'm needing 4 done!
  4. It's a petrol. Oil used is from the dealer, Shell I think. Had it on a fault reader today. Misfire on all cylinders and running lean. Poss air intake pipe issue?
  5. My 2006 Mk2 Vrs has just started to judder when coming off the throttle, i.e. when going from accelerating to decelerating. The engine revs are also not dropping back to idle as quickly as they should and are sometimes climbing up to 2500rpm by it's self. At tick over it is running roughly. No warning lights on. Anyone have and ideas as to what's wrong? Regards, Stu
  6. Just had my unit replaced today. £434 all in. I contacted Skoda UK who after a long wait said they would not be able to offer any good will. I pointed out the amount of Skoda's that are owned within my family and that we would not be buying any ever again if this was not resolved. They said they would look further into it and get back to me. After another long wait they offered 30% towards the cost. ( Quoted £868 for replacment at my local dealer where I bought the car.) I then contacted the dealer who offered 20% in addition to Skoda's offer. Still p*ssed that it's cost me £434 but alot better than £868...!
  7. Did you ask skoda for the goodwill or the dealers? As my dealer local is not intrested.
  8. I've just been quoted £870 to have this unit replaced at the dealers. I'm hoping to persue a 'goodwill' claim with skoda as the dealers are not inrested. Has anyone had any luck with this? If that fails I think I'll go with the rebuild from ECU testing and get my local garage to do the work. Totaly miffed at the whole thing.
  9. Had car in at stealers today, plugged it in and told me it needs ABS/ESP pump which they would fit for £870. They then took £47 for the pleasure of reading the fault code! Nightmare.
  10. My Traction control / ESP light has came on and will not go out. Any ideas why this could be? 2006 MkII Octavia Vrs. Thanks!
  11. Just a little update to this thread. I have just had a Detachable Witter Towbar (SK18Q) fitted with single electrics. I'm very happy with how hidden it is when it's removed. Unable to really see anything at all. It clips and locks in very easily. Glad I went for this model in the end!
  12. Did you need to go to Skoda for reprogramming, as I've been told I will need to do this?
  13. Thanks for all the info. I now think I am going to go for a Witter detachable. Towequipe are currently checking to see if a Witter detachable will fit the Vrs model. If so I'll go for it. As for the electrics Towequip has said I'll need the kit no: 19220506RC at £158.92 but I can't see any difference to the kit you fitted 'Psycholist' at only £70.72. (kit no BW1R748107)???? Does your kit come with the plugs which go into the light cluster? Did you fit it yourself? How did you find it, that will be my next head buster!
  14. I will only be towing a trailer so not to worried about ESP and don't have reversing sensers. I think a 7 pin plug will be fine for my use, unless it would be mad not to put a 13 in when i'm doing it anyway. On the towequipe site but struggling to see what kit will be best. Looking at their pictures I have ruled out the Bosal detachable as it's still very visable when removed. The Witter looks ok, and nearly hidden when removed.
  15. I'm very intrested in this kit you used for the electrics, as I do not want to use scotch locks. Can you give me some more details on it? If I got that kit and a detachable towbar (undecided which one yet) It sounds as if it would straight forward enough to fit myself. Anyone know of anything else I should be aware of before I take the plunge!!
  16. Hi, I'm looking to fit a Detatchable towbar and single electrics to my 2006 Octavia 2 Vrs. If you have one fitted could you post a picture of it up. I'm keen to see what it will look like as I'm worried it will spoil the look of the car! I'm confused as to which way I should get the electrics done? I've been told I'll need a by pass relay but unsure where this goes or how it works. Not keen on the idea of scotch locking onto the existing wires! (if thats even done nowadays!) Thanks
  17. Just put 4 Kumho KU19's on my vRS. Have had 2 set's of Kumho KU31's on other cars and been happy with them so thought I'd try the KU19's out as they have an Asymmetric tread pattern. Again happy with them so far - only done about 250miles though. £72 each fully fitted so seemed a good deal.
  18. Could you explain how you did this as I would like a socket in the boot too... Thanks
  19. i posted mine up some time ago if you search you might find them
  20. That's all four of mine changed now and the engine management light has reset it's self after a few stop starts.
  21. I have a 06 2.0 Petrol Vrs. It has just developed a coil pack fault for the 3rd time. On a different cylinder each time. Is this a known fault with these engines? I think I am going to replace the 4th coil as well just incase, as it will no doubt develope the fault at some point like the others have!
