  1. Bumpy bump...anyone any idea about this before I lug my motor and hour and a half away to the garage? K:)
  2. Morning folks Long time not on here...that poxy thing called work keeps getting in the way! Anyhoo have a wee problem that I noticed yesterday, the car 2011 diesel Octy VRS slipped out of sixth gear a few times yesterday on the motorway. At first I thought I hadn't engaged the gear correctly so it wasn't sitting right, but it did the same thing a few mins later. Should I be worried of a big bill or could there be a simple solution? Cheers folks Kit
  3. Cheers Langers I'm going to ring Thule later and see what they say, had a good bit of conflicting information from some suppliers. Kit
  4. Afternoon all Looking for a bit of info here, I have a 2011 Vrs hatch and my GF has a dodgy old Astra estate. I'm looking for a set up that allows me to use roof bars and bike carrier, probably Thule Pro Ride on my motor then transfer the bike carrier to hers when she needs it...question is will a Thule Pro Ride bike carrier fit on basic universal bars or will they only fit on Thule bars? At the mo she has the front to back runner things and uses her brother in laws bars and roof box off his Alfa. Cheers
  5. Bought a Whyte 901 16-17 season model 6 months ago with the internal cabling and 650b wheels and its fab, great XC and downhill, great long distance and I can pack it with all my gear and go bike packing. Think I paid just over 1100 euro and got it on the bike to work scheme.
  6. Joe's place is called Stone Motorsport.
  7. Ohhh once you start buying stuff you become a gear junkie in no time.....when I sold a load of gear last year I ended up selling three sets of axes and three pairs of crampons!!! I could only have worn and used one at a time!!!! As Brekie says...learn how to bail out but of course if its safe, style it out as well Plus learn how to be disappointed as well...you plan a trip for months, book a flight sort out the logistics then it goes side ways on the first day, either kack weather, gear breaks or like one trip a group across the glen got caught in an avalanche and we had to go help. The main think is though is to enjoy it and enjoy hanging out with your mates...see what I did there
  8. No one? Rightyo its off in the bin with it...my clear out continues
  9. No idea...it worked the same as an STS box, I downloaded my original map onto it, sent it back to them and then they put the new map on to it and sent it back to me, I then downloaded onto my car. When I sold the car I switched the map back to standard and I was left with the STS box with the performance map on it.
  10. I've just found the Star Performance OBD plug in box that I had when they did the map for my Fabia MK1 VRS. Not sure if its worth anything to anybody but if it is then someone can have it for free if they just want to sort the postage. Again it could be worthless or it could just be what someone is looking for, I don't know, but if you want it here is....or its going in the bin. Posting in here to get more attention...hope that's ok

    New Puppy

I did what was mentioned above with my staffy when she was a pup, open the boot and put a blanket and toys in there and just left her to go in and out. I would never consider putting a dog in the foot well or on the seats. A friend of mine had her staffy on the back seat when she was in a crash, not only did the staffy end up bouncing down the road but it had flattened the front passenger seat on its way through the windscreen :(
  13. ^^^^^ what's been said above, being a wall monkey is great but being hill fit and hill experienced take years. My GF is gym/marathon/wall fit but lags waaaayyy behind me when we are on the hill. Use the wall for technique but get outside as much as you can and put yourself in different scenarios. Its all great breaking a leg indoors and having an ambo ten minutes away but think about when your on some crag in the butt end of nowhere. Being on the hill is a never ending lesson, you'll never stop learning. K:)
  14. Halfords over here are doing that pack for 365 euro!!! I might look for one that I can just hang on the back and hopefully not bust the spoiler!!! :( Cheers Kit
