I have a black leather interior as the children would just have ruined the ivory. When it came to the colour I did not like the storm blue but was really taken by the Pacific blue. I think that it is a great shade of blue and is far better than some of the metallic colours on offer.

The tyres were fitted today 18" Coopers Avon. What a difference. I can not believe that these tyres could make so much difference but they do. I even drove over carparks that the car could not do before and it just glided through the snow (8 inches) There has been fresh snow here today ontop of the already present ice. I would recommend that you should all go out and get winter tyres. There is no point in driving about with no confidence in this kind of weather. I also had to tell the maxidot computer that I now had winter tyres on. Tell me if I had told the maxidot I was on winter tyres when I was still on summer tyres would it have improved the traction any? Many thanks again. Whoa! That has been brilliant. The response was fast and balanced. Thank you very much. I have just ordered winter tyres for both my colleague and myself. They are Cooper Avon tyres to be fitted straight onto the alloy. No steelies needed as the tyres were only £128 each. I get them on Friday. No more parking 1 mile away from the house from Friday.

I have now had my superb (Elegance) since March and it is just that Superb. That is until the snow came at the beginning of December and it has been complete poo in these conditions. I thought that it was just me but I have a work colleague who received his Superb on Christmas eve (santa is a good guy) and he is really disgusted with its handling in the wintry conditions of Scotland. Has anybody else had similar experiences? I have had many company cars over the last 25 years but none as I can remember that were this poor in the snow and ice. I have never had to purchase winter tyres before but now feel this may be my only option. Can you get winter tyres at 18" that will fit straight onto the existing alloy. If not it will be very expensive. Any thoughts

Well I have to say that I have tried it all and got no where. I have an HTC touch pro and the Columbus system and I have tried everywhere to get the two to talk to each other with never any success. The link here would not even work. Today though I asked a friend who knows far more about computers than me to have a look and he was struggling after an hour. Then he decided to look at the HTC website and he downloaded the latest ROM (apparently I was 5 behind. I only just got the phone) It was downloaded and then we made our way out to the car. EUREKA the update dated 04/03/09 linked straight away with the car and I have never had a problem since. It is brilliant that it works and my phone is a handset that was deemed not compatible. Before I did this I phoned HTC technical they were like the women on Little Britain "Computer says no" to every question I had about the Touch pro and the Columbus and kept saying Parrot. It would appear that the latest ROM for HTC touch pro has changed the relationship with the Skoda Superb Columbus system and life is just great.

well I have now spent a couple of days looking through web sites to find a way of getting the Columbus to talk to the HTC Touch Pro and have not found the answer through any downloads. This however may be the answer if a slightly expensive one. Check out the link below. FISCON Bluetooth Handsfree Does anybody know what the fitting cost would be?

Alien8b Thanks for the tip. Some things are never easy. I will go and scroll through the xda developers site. My phone is an unlocked model with an 02 sim. its all very irritating. we shall soldier on sorry to hear you now have further problems with yourHTC handset. Chiz

This is a message for Alien8D. I have followed your detailed work procedure to the letter for my HTC Touch pro and now face a problem. The Installation of the BT_SAP.Cab did not work and the message reads. Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.This message was after I was asked where to install “jasjamming BT SAP”. I then tried to run .NET CF 3.5. This could not be found after download onto the handset. I tried dragging it and dropping it but it would not run. Please do you have any ideas. how I can get this to run.

I have had mine three days and 550 miles and it is just brilliant. You will have a ball. The seats are so comfy that after a long time behind the wheel you just want to keep driving. The next step of fun starts tomorrow when I get my new handset an HTC Touch pro. The fun will be getting it to pair with the car.

It truly is SUPERB. I picked up my Pacific Blue 170cr Elegence and find a wonderful experience and what a car. I have driven nearly 200 miles and every one was great. easily uploaded 10 albums from an sd card to the hdd, easily stored my seat preferences and was able to navigate Columbus fairly easily. I am hoping that this is a very nice colour also as I have made my choice from the link that you had sent and the fact that I think it is like the maritime blue the the vw passat has. I would never have picked this colour from the showroom swatches.

I will have the chance of taking some pictures of a Pacific blue one on Monday Morning. The reason being that I will be picking up my new car. It will be a Pacific Blue 170cr Elegance with Black leather interior, a sunroof and blacked out rear windows. I will gladly take some photos if any body is interested. I cannot wait:)

So tell me then. All the people out there not got a Nokia 6300 and that may or may of not of used the section marked "HOWTO : Get rSAP working with the Columbus RNS510 using a “non compatible” mobile" Are you getting calls dropping off when they are not wanted? My car will come in about 3 weeks and I thought that I had sorted out in my mind that my phone (HTC Touch Pro) was probably going to work. Now I am completely confused at to whether it will or won't.

I will have to retract my comments about me looking forward to getting my 18" Lunas. I have just found out today that our transport manager who ordered the vehicle forgot to specify that I wanted the Lunas. Now I am looking forward to the Thermistos because I have no choice.

Have you enabled the Rsap setting on the phone?

I am sure that I will get a few opinions here hence the question. In your opinion what is the best usable PDA handset out there. I have just broken my HTC TyTyn and shall replace it just in time for the delivery of my new car a Superb Elegence in Pacific blue with the170cr diesel. I am thinking that the HTC Touch Pro will do me nicely. Whats the thoughts? Will it sync with the Columbus Rsap phone thingy?

There must be someone in the trade that can answer this question please.

I have opted for the 18" Lunas but unfortunately I will not be able to show you any photos until March the 1st. I thought that they looked nicer and also easier to keep clean.

I was wondering if there were any sharp guys or girls out there who are not as hopelessly colour blind as I am. I have picked the colour Pacific Blue on my car (delivery March) because I thought that it looked good. Not from the show room swatches of course they are c**p but from an earlier thread that had posted some pictures of a Superb in Pacific Blue. In two and half months I have only seen 2 superbs on the road and neither of them have been my colour. Does anybody know if the volkswagen Passat colour Martime Blue is similar to the Pacific Blue?

Thanks for the welcome. It is a factory order and as far as I am aware it is due in March 09. Not to long. At least we should be through the worst of the weather by then I suppose.

I have just ordered a 170cr Elegance with sun roof and sunset glass in Pacific Blue with the Luna wheels. I am so chuffed I am telling everybody! I picked the colour after an earlier thread that showed pictures. I would never of picked that colour from the showroom swatches, in fact all the swatches and the brochure colours look crap.
