  1. Hi, do you know if these would be suitable for a 2011 superb (thinking the superb is a bit heavier than an octavia) , and would you consider couriering them to Aberdeen? Cheers Scott
  2. No, it's got the microphone icon. Car is from Jan 2011
  3. Hi thanks for that. I've managed to remove the Columbus unit and have changed the 20amp fuse in the rear of the unit, have connected everything back up and its still dead. And now I have an airbag error warning light, although I refitted the passenger bag light part. What are the options now? Try to get the Columbus repaired or look into an aftermarket replacement? The fear of getting the Columbus fixed would be that it breaks again, but I do like all the car compatibility. The advantage of a different unit would be a dab radio, but loosing features like the rear parking sensor graphics. Cost is a consideration too. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Scott Thanks
  4. Hi rusty, not sure that last post worked! Thanks
  5. Hi thanks for the reply. What's the easiest way to pull out the connectors? Is it the black clamp thing? Thanks
  6. Hi, my Columbus head unit is dead, I can't get it to switch on, doesn't seem like it's getting any power. I've checked the fuse in the engine bay (f9) I think which was fine. I'm now trying to check the fuse that is on the rear or the Columbus unit, but can't seem to locate it. Can anyone help, I don't want to pull out the connectors unnecessarily. Thanks Scott
  7. Hi Getting ready to fit some 17" passat monte carlo alloys to my superb 2 later in the year. They don't currently have centre caps, and I realise that the oem vw caps are 65mm wide. I don't think you can get skoda badged centre caps as big as that. Any ideas / recommendations on a 65mm centre cap that will suit the superb? Cheers Scott
  8. Hi, not sure what I'm doing with the themisto's yet, but they've been refurbished twice, so wouldn't match original 'diamond cut' wheels. Cheers Scott
  9. Hello, just bought a bargain set of Monte Carlo alloys from a 2010 Passat for my superb 2. They're 17x7.5. Hopefully they'll give a better ride than my current themisto's! Has anyone anyone else run monte carlo s on a Superb? Any pics? They were on passat sports I think - the five spoke design. Cheers Scott
  10. Yep, I'm in Aberdeen. Big blue superb 2 estate. 4 bike racks on the roof and a briskoda sticker on the back. Cheers Scott
  11. Thanks for the advice guys. Useful points made regards the disc possibly being warped by the caliper, I hadn't thought of that. I'm being guided by the garage who confirm that there's no problem. I'll keep a look out for any steering wheel wobble. Although the discs are getting hot, I'm getting 50+mpg on the trip computer out of town, so maybe it is ok. Cheers Scott Cheers
  12. Thanks for the advice guys. Update is that the garage checked the car this week, took it for a long test drive, and couldn't find any problems at all. I still think the disc on the new caliper is hotter than the rest, but the car is driving better- pulling smoothly. Maybe it's just the new caliper bedding in? Cheers
  13. Ok, cheers John. I'll ask the garage to check the hoses, don't think it's a wheel bearing as that would be noisy too?
  14. Hi I'm having an on going problem with the brakes on my superb. Pads and discs were all replaced 6 months ago, then cleaned up again in November. Two weeks ago the front caliper, drivers side started binding, mpg dropped and the disc was very hot. Garage had a look at it, pushed back the piston and thought it would be ok. Problem still there, so the garage fitted a new caliper last week. Was ok for a day then problem back again, very hot disc. The other three brakes seem fine. Does this suggest a more serious brake problem such as the master cylinder? The car is a 2011 4x4, 85,000 miles. Any help appreciated. Thanks Scott
