  2. I saw one today Byt it's MINE, finally here, happy days
  3. @FinnFredThank you , due to get my car on the 15th May, it's a shame about the fold flat as that's why I did not go for electric, but I'll cope
  4. So had a play in a car today, and to use Android auto you need a USB connection to your phone, So will the 3 years online provide its own SIM and thus bypass the need for the USB connection and also give an always on data connection within the car rather than using the hotspot from your personal mobile device. That would help explain the additional cost involved. That would also help in downloading map updates and the like Not getting my own car till May 15th so can't do some serious playing till then
  5. Still waiting to hear if the passenger seat folds flat when you don't have electric seats But hey, test driving one later so will find out myself
  6. I'd try calling Skoda Customer services, as I don't think there will be many more events
  7. Happy now thanks to fish brothers in Swindon Quartz gray as well
  8. Cheers Colin, the one that now comes to me is the single electric seat, so that the front passenger seat is still fold-able, waiting to see if my order can be changed without affecting the build date

  12. Are there any more vip events scheduled in the South, preferably Buckinghamshire area in the near future. For some reason Skoda hasn't sent me an invite despite registering an interest possibly due to my local garage closing at Xmas
  13. Anticipated Delivery Early May 4a4 Heated Front And Rear Seats 7x2 Front And Rear Parking Sensors 8s6+5xh+pn2/Pn3 Interior Light Pack 9wx Media Command Pjd/Pje Temporary Space Saver Spare Whl Pkv+9t1 Htd Windscreen+heatd Washer Nozl Pob 3 Yrs Infotainment Online+phone Box Pwe High Beam Assist
  14. Waiting to get confirmation from my lease company Sel 150 tdi dsg 4x4 quartz grey to replace an octavia 3rd skoda in a row
  15. hmm tempting, new car due in may Hopefully the new car bugs might be gone by then as I had a few glitches with the Octavia when it came out
  16. Finally worked this out. I had updated my maps to a newer version and had tried to use the lovely Skoda MyDestinations portal to update the maps. The problem is it still thinks its 2014, so if you have newer maps it attempts to update and fails and then leaves it in a loop that tries to update the POI's each time you start the system. So the solution was to create POI files in both the Skoda and VW systems Then take the two corresponding MIB directories from the VW files to replace the entries in the Skoda directories Then load that file into the car and it will fix the error From then on use the VW site, god knows when Skoda will update theres. I had taken my car into the local garage for them to try and fix it and they replaced the whole unit (£200) despite me telling them its a software error, I work in IT. But all good now
  17. Hi all Had a problem doing a POI update on my MY14 Columbus units that is stopping me from doing any other updates Screen shots are below Any help greatfully received Ernie
  18. It fails to read the first line of the file, headings, so delete that line and it loads the file
  19. Just played with this and found that using the POI import, you need to delete the headings line from the .asc file if you have one as that generates the error I was using a POI file generated from Pocket GPS world
  20. The garage is now making a third attempt to replace the columbus unit in my Octavia as I had a broken SD card reader. All instructions they have tried thus far to link the unit into the car have as of now failed and they are now having to refer the problem back to Skoda in Germany. Has anyone else installed a Columbus Unit and successfully sync'd it to their vehicle
  21. crappy download sppeds, but I use a USB hard disk rather than an SD card to do the update of the columbus
  22. Didn't realise they had brought Rsap back in, great news as it was ditched in 4.0 To try and answer Ryeman These are all ways of getting bluetooth connectivity between Phone and car (protocols) HFP = Hands Free Protocol, Allows calls to be recieved and listened to PBAB = Phone Book Access Protocol, Allows the phone numbers to be read from your phone. RSAP = Remote Sim Access Profile, allows the SIM card to be read and intercepted, so that items like text messages can also be recieved I had an 09 Superb which had the previous model Columbus unit in it that supported RSAP with a Samsung Galaxy S2, I now have the new model Octavia which has the latest model Columbus, and now have a Samsung Galaxy S5 The main difference was being able to read your text messages in the centre console display, which I miss Hope that helps
  23. Just noticed that a P88 version of the maps is now available for the columbus unit http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/GBP/View-Promo?&cwt=application/ApplicationFrame_campaign_light&&Page=Skoda-Landing-Page-MIB-Columbus&&NewDomainName=Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site&
  24. I have a galaxy S5 and it doesn't have RSAP, looks like it uses HFP now, great piece of kit irregardless The functionality was removed in an earlier android bluetooth version, there was a workaround that I used on an S2 but not tried that on the S5 as I didn't want to take root. The S5 syncs with my new Columbus with no problems, you just lose out on text messages I had an S4 previously and that sync'd with the old columbus model with no problems either.
  25. Try downloading the whole thing as a single file, the download site is a lot quicker. You also don't need to use an SD card to update the columbus, you can use a USB Drive or disk, which is a lot less hassle than an SD card There is now a november version of the maps
