  1. Hi everyone, I have had a delay in the funds to buy my petrol 1.2 yeti for a few more months so... 1- when is the change over month/year for the cam chain fixes to feel safe in buying? 2- i im looking at a FL 2014 elegance 1.2 dsg as the year and model spec. so is that a safer bet than a pre FL? Ps sorry i know there are threads all over the web but no clear answers i could see. just need to get the info clear in my head so i can buy with reasonable confidence, subject to the usual used car hurdles and challenges. Thanks in advance.
  2. halfords online have the blackvue 650 at a big discount at the moment if thats any use? ps i dont have one as yet but was looking around today and found the deal. was £229 full price on offer at £183 still a bit expensive. some good reviews of dash cams on youtube and this was a popular choice. http://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cams/dash-cams/blackvue-dr650s-1ch-dash-cam
  3. Hi everyone, I am a previous owner of numerous skoda vehicles and wanted some advice. I am looking at getting a used yeti around £10k budget but was not sure which engines are any good or should be avoided? I do mainly short journeys and less than 8k miles a year. Looking on the other forums here I am a little worried the 1.2petrol is a bit of gamble due the the stretched chain issuses. But dont do the mileage to ? warrant a diesel either. So which is the best, most reliable and reasonable to run choice? Any help greatly appreciated. Nick.
  4. Hi everyone, i need some help here please. My fabia 2010 vrs electric windows are going up and down on their own and then not working at all for a bit before opening or closing by themselves again? example... i was on the motorway at 70 and all of a sudden the passenger window clonked as if it was going up then went right down, then wouldnt do anything for 20 -30 seconds. not what you want in the rain. any ideas? thanks nick.
  5. Hi everyone, My fabia vrs 2010 has been damaged while parked up and wanted to know if it is likely to be a repair job or a write off... damage: osr bumper outer, osr light unit, possible extras... inner rear bumper, rear defuser, scrates to tailgate. 2010 black vrs 37000 miles full service history, oil user too. thanks nick.
  6. thanks. it is a skoda warranty. has used 0.5 over less than 350 miles since the "fix"
  7. it was under warranty when they did the 1st consumption test, i said it iscthe same issue but they just not fixed it... their reply was i will contact our warranty guy and come back to me. but they implied it was down to me.
  8. advice please... i have had the breather mod and software update to little effect. my 3yr manufacturer warranty has now run out but only brought it from main dealer in august 2013 so have used car warranty. they have just said i may need to pay for my 2nd consumption test. i thought this was a bloody cheek as i paid main dealer price for the car (nearly £10000) only a few months ago and dont feel i should have to pay to investigate a "known" issue. is this fair or am i being diffcult? should i start raising it with skoda uk?
  9. i got it today!!! i love it and boy is it quick...
  10. pic up my vrs next week... date of reg: oct 2010 colour: black options fitted: reverse sensors, bluetooth phone prep, dark grey alloys, mud flaps, ps not yet valeted or prepared/polished. :-)
  11. just had this sorted by my local dealer under warranty, they said it was the pipe for the rear washer which comes in with the loom behind the dash by the back of glovebox area. they fitted a "repair kit" which skoda do for this ? :-)
  12. thanks everyone will take a look tomorrow. :-)

  14. Hi everyone, My Octavia VRS 2006 has yet again started saying the boot is open (when it's not) and i have found the dreaded washer hose is still leaking after preious "fixes" and i am unsure how to stop the sensor saying it's open??? is it a new lock for me? or other part? I have had this before but it was in warranty then so unsure what they did to sort it. vSorry if it is a silly question. :-) thanks harcourt81 (nick)
  15. Hi guys and girls sorry if this seems a silly question but my Octavia VRs is nearly 3yrs old and only at 18k miles it has variable serving it has had a brake fluid change and 1 service at 2 yrs but will it need anything other than an MOT ? Thanks :-)
  16. I do get some interference with the engine is off, but whilst driving as the speed increases/changes the whine changes pitch.:confused:
  17. I have fitted a MFD2 some time ago and had the interference when using the auto changer. So i did as Vrs Stu stated on his great site and got a connector block and moved around cetain wires but it has not fixed the problem. When usins the auot changer i hear a crackly/whine which appears to be related to the RPM. The i pod bit works ok as does the MFD2, any ideas anyone? ps i have had it coded by a local dealer so thats all ok. thanks guys and girls
