I said a couple of months it could have been just one, but I think you have cracked it with the ice waning has it has been down to below minus 15 for the last few weeks here. funny enough today the temp. rose to minus 1 and low and behold NO PING. Thanks a lot folks.

I hope someone can answer this for me because it's driving me mad. When I drive off for the first time in the day, after about half a mile I get this loud "PING" like a warning sound coming from somewhere behind the dash. There are no warning lights on and once it dose it, it dosent happen again until the next time after an overnight rest. Its been happening now for about a couple of months, so what is it? I have a Skoda fabia 1 2005 model.

Thank you for the quick reply, its that I have a Solar battery monitor which works off the cigarette plug and was wondering if this was still active when I took the ignition key out and locked up the car.

This must seem like a stupid question. I need to take the battery out of my 2006 Fabia 1.4 diesel est. When I looked under the hood sitting on top of the battery is a large plastic tray thing with lots of elec wires I can't see any way of removing this to get to the securing bolts to remove the battery. On any other car I've had this has been a most simple job but not on this, mind you it was raining (my car is parked on the roadside) and getting a bit dark. Can any one advise please. Pics and diagrams would help. Hi all. I sold my eleven year old BMW two years ago and bought a Skoda Fabia Soul 1.4 diesel. I live in Austria so this model will not be know to anyone outside of this country or am I wrong? There are one or two questions that I have on this car the first is how do you get the battery out to change it?
