  1. Fitted cruise control to my friends octavia today 1.8T Mk1 2005. All genuine wiring, bought from ebay. Actived it with VCDS. But it comes back with 17977 Implausible Signal Gone to measuring block 66. Checked opperation of stalk. Working okay. correct 0 turning to 1's as each button pressed. Brake and clutch switches working okay, according to measuring block 66-2 Did notice that once fault codes clear, activate cruise control mb66-4 reads 00000001 mb66-2 reads 00001000 Press 'SET' on cc mb66-4 reads 00000101 mb66-2 reads 00001000 Press 'RES' on cc mb66-4 reads 00001001 mb66-2 reads 11001000 At this point the fault code comes in! Have I connected up a cable wrongly somewhere? Forgotten to do something? Or is it broken? Thanks guys
  2. Alreet fella. Nice to see you finally joined up
  3. Im not sure if im in the right forum so feel free to move. Why do people uprate the subframe bushes? What the advanages? Also subframe bracing? Obviously its to strengthen but why? How is it designed, ie fixing points etc. Sorry if its all vague. Stumbled across the bracing on a golf forum when looking for some parts for a friends car. Thanks in advance Mark
  4. Or it could be that you've cooked the voice coil of the sub when the amp went faulty. Does the sub have a 'burnt' smell to it? (its a destinct smell and cant be missed). Try pushing gently in the center of the cone, see if there is any scrapping noises (becareful doing this though as its not the nicest thing you can do to a speaker.) If it is either of these then im affraid its dead. A recone would probably cost more than a new sub, thats if a kit is avaliable. Have a look at the tinsle leads (go from the connection, through the woven material and into the cone) see if there is a break or damage there HTH
  5. Youll probably find that they sound better once amped. Your headunit wont put out enough power to run them. See if a mate has got a spare amp you could try.
  6. Okay so there was 2 obvious differences then lol. Didnt realise that blueflame had gone bust. Or would another option be to have one made up with maybe just a Miltek down pipe?
  7. As the title really. What are the differences between them, well apart from the obvious tail pipe. Build quality, guaranty, after sales service etc. Do either of them actually make a difference or are they mainly just for cosmetics? Thanks
  8. Have you checked that there isnt a grub screw or 2 in the collar locking it in place? Failing that maybe wrap a rag round the collar and use a big pair stilsons
  9. Fecking bushes!! Having my life

  10. I got my A-pillars off by pulling the door seal off just byt the A-pillar, which gave me more room to get my fingers underneather the trim. Start at the top and give a firm tug and it should start to come off. Theres 3 clips holding it in place if i remember. HTH
  11. It was on the front. I ended up drilling it out. Started off small and going up the sizes till i could fold the remainder of the sensor in on its self to loosen it and pull it out. Thanks anyway dfullb
  12. Think ive snapped my ABS sensor. Whats the best way to remove the rest of the remaining sensor? Would i just be able to drill it out?
  13. Could you not just put a 'jumper' cable between the 2 connections on the woofer plug? Or is there a bass blocking capacitor somewhere to avoid blowing the tweeter?
