  1. I asked my dealer exactly the same and got told "it's within tolerance". Basically we aren't going to do anything!
  2. Morning everyone. I was just wondering if any Octavia Vrs owners have had issues with their dash cams getting a GPS signal. I've bought a mini 0903 with a GPS mount and when viewing the files the actual recordings/videos are great, but the GPS trace is very erratic and shows me in the middle of a national park in British Columbia, when I'm actually in Derbyshire England. To be fair the seller has been brilliant and very responsive between myself and the factory in China. He is going to replace the mount as a first possible fix, and has suggested not mounting it underneath the dots around the rear view mirror, where it currently is.
  3. I'm actually waiting on my dealer to get back to me regarding an issue with my leather seats. The parcel shelf has rubbed on the leather of the back seat and has made two marks in it. They wouldn't commit if this would be covered under warranty or not, only saying can you imagine the cost of the replacement piece of leather, as though that was my problem, and that they would have to refer it to skoda warranty and they may want to investigate/view the car. So here I wait for a call from them with an update!
  4. Whilst cleaning the car this weekend, I've noticed the little blisters have returned again, this time on the right hand side of the spoiler. Really, how can this keep happening? It's due for service in a couple of weeks, so going to mention it to the dealership then. Although I'm not expecting much as I'm still waiting for a response to the seatbelts cutting into the plastic, since taking it in on 1st March. I'm expecting them to say it's something I'm using on the car or where I'm parking it! Funny there's none anywhere else on the car though!
  5. I'm still waiting on my dealership to sort this. Here I am over 2 months since reporting it and no further forward. I've phoned the dealership several times, but the service manager is always busy and never returns my calls. I've spoken to skoda customer care 3 weeks ago, who eventually managed to speak with the service manager, who told her trim panels aren't covered under warranty, but the issue is with their warranty administration department. I'm really not impressed with either skoda or the dealership!
  6. According to my dealership, skoda will only replace the seals if the water retention is inside the door itself and not just on the sills, as that is "a feature of all vehicles" I asked what happens if the water on the sill freezes and damages the door/sill, or I couldn't open the door, but they couldn't give me an answer!
  7. I've been to see the dealership today and apparently it's how I'm putting the seatbelt on, although when I said I never had the issue on the other 3 VRs cars I had, they couldn't answer me. Also, surprise surprise, they've never had any other cars with this fault. They have taken pictures and will submit them to skoda, to see if they will approve the warranty claim.
  8. Has anyone had anymore joy with this problem and skoda? Mine are showing wear on both drivers and passenger side. After Stuski's problems with Clock/Gordon Lamb I'm a bit reluctant to waste my time going to see them about this!
  9. Mine has yet again developed blisters, although not to this extent! After much arguing back and forth, between the dealer, body shop, myself and skoda warranty, they've finally agreed to replace the spoiler. Fingers crosses that might fix the problem for me!
  10. Was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice on a small problem I've discovered. The car concerned is a 59reg Fabia 1, so basic model. When we lock the car with the keys (no remote controlled central locking on this model) all the doors and boot lock, and the indicators flash. The problem is with the red LED light on the drivers door, this doesn't flash at all, although it previously has done. Could it be a break in the wiring loom, between the door and the car, as I've read that is a common problem and have already had the passenger side replaced under warranty as the electric window wouldn't operate, or can anything else be suggested??
  11. Mine is exactly the same, it's just slightly off straight, but just enough to annoy me. I would be interested to hear what the dealers say, I've not spoken to mine about it yet!
  12. Next time your in the area, your welcome to test yourself on mine!
  13. Morning Andyvee, did you ever get this to work without the warning message on the Amundsen?
  14. Who do you recommend in Derbyshire andyvee, I've caught the underneath of my sill!
  15. Could you not use you mk2 spare on the rear, as the calipers are smaller and then if the puncture is on the front, swap the full size wheel onto the front? Bit of faffing around I know.
  16. I too have got some small scratches on the windscreen from dirt under the wipers, and have tried various window companies and detailers, and none of them are interested. I got the same reply from all of them, it would be easier and cheaper to have a new screen fitted!
  17. Nope no wiring in place. Kits can be bought on the internet, including the lights and wiring, but require coding once fitted to get them to work.
  18. I've just been to the dealership to have a look at my brothers new 2015 VRs, and I was very impressed with the new colour VRs logo and piano black background steering wheel badge. It looks much better than the silver one on my car. I asked in parts how much these were, after I pass out and then regained consciousness, I confirmed the parts bloke did actually say £62!! Can't believe they can charge that much for something so small! Even at Trade Parts Specialists, they wanted £61.73, or discounted to £55.
  19. You have to use the genuine skoda sd card, other ones won't work. Just make a copy/backup of it before formatting and writing the new files to it, then if everything goes wrong you can just restore it.
  20. I have done a search and found a previous thread where people have talked about doing it, but has anybody actually done it?
  21. Just wondered if anyone with a vrs with the normal round steering wheel has retrofitted a flat bottom one? If so, is it a big/difficult job and expensive?
  22. Leigh at www.lwsmartrepairsltd.co.uk, in alfreton, he's not particularly cheap, but is good. Or Joey, Ian or Wayne at www.paintchipmansfield.co.uk, in Mansfield. They are very good and aren't stupid on price. If you go here or phone them, tell them alex with the vrs recommended them!
  23. I've had a phone call today, only after my brother visited the dealership to enquire about a new car, and told them I was p@#ssed off. I've been assured a conversation will take place with the body shop on Friday, and he will call me then to arrange it going in. So far no mention of "skoda experts". Excuse me, but I won't be holding my breath! I agree entirely James, why promise to call back, if you have no intention of doing so. My greeting to the call today was "oh, your phone's do dial out, thought they only received calls!"
  24. Anyone had any updates on their car and this issue? I'm still waiting for a return of my phone call, only been nearly a month! Time for a different dealership!
