Been told I need a new steering rack but don't really Wana pay over £300 quid for a new one then fitting. Which gen rack will I have on my 08 tfsi pre FL? The mechanic couldn't tell from looking under the car without taking sub frame off. Said it's either 3 or 4 bolt one. He reccomend me trying to get hold of one and he will fit it to keep cost down. Will Skoda be able to tell me if I ring them with my vin? Also would you buy second hand?

Na you won't mate. Loads of people have stuck 50mm springs over standard shocks. 50mm will only bring a vrs down about 30mm anyway.

On a tight budget but Wana swap my shocks and springs. Gona get vogtland 50mm springs and new standard dampers. Anyone have any experiences of using anschler shocks from ecp?

My clutch started slipping on the way home after my map then I developed a missfire day later. Then.dv valve went. Was over a month after the map I actually got to experience the map properly

Well i got a reply from awesome, and there answer was......"unfortunately they don't get involved in club rolling road days anymore because they now only open half day on a sat!" How bads that! Pitty there a good day out and don't fancy now having to pay £70 for a run.

Anyone fancy doing it again at awesome? I organised one a few year back when I had my old diesel octy vrs.now I have a tfsi I wouldn't mind getting it on the rollers. Think the minimum was 10 cars last time for a discount. If there's interest I'll contact awesome and get some prices.

My screen keeps lifting off since I had a new screen fitted. Took it back shop 2 times and it just keeps doing it again. Is it possible just to run a beed of strong glue around the edge of the screen then clamp it down till dry or will I run the risk of damage if any gets underneath? I use no nonsense mitre bond for everything, would the aerosol part of that damage if squirted on the lifted side?

Not noticed hazards but door indicator flashes a couple of times then stays lit.

As the title says, heard that a oem clutch is more than capable with a stage 1 on a tfsi vrs. Just wana confirm this. Not got big money to spend and my clutch is slipping since my remap so was hoping I could just replace with oem.

I'm not a happy chappy at the min. Saved up for a stage 1 (shark) for my tfsi had it done last week, day later new Dv valve needed. So did that. All well. Then day after that, miss fire cylinder 3,new ignition coil and jobs a good un. Took it for a drive to finally experience the remap and the bloody clutch slips around 4.5k revs! Can't be paying out big money for a clutch now with all I have spent recently so my questions are will the clutch be OK for a few more month if it's not hammered. And also will a standard oem clutch brand new be OK with the map.also what kind of cost am I looking at for this. Wish I hadn't bothered in the first place now, my wife will throw me on the street if she finds out how much all this is costing! Lol

Yeah mine is also stage 1 and I can see high 40s when taking my time.

Had my Octavia tfsi remapped a week. Had a Dv problem and a miss fire within days of the remap. Anyway there sorted now so onto my next problem. When going round a round about in 2nd Aprox 30mph then accelerating hard down a slip road it red lined nearly instantly then changed to 3rd and same happened again. Is this signs of a slipping clutch or is it just my bad driving and I should have been in 3rd comming out of the roundabout? To alow for more revs to be available? It doesn't do it when accelerating hard in 2nd from slower speeds?

Dv valve was a pain to swap because of limited space but I think it's solved the problem. I say I think because I then did a code check and I have a bleedin misfire now! Looking like an ignition coil so getting one in the morning and hopefully it will have a full bill of health. Not been able to get the full remap experience yet!

I think I noticed it before the map. It's just more noticeable now. I have a shark map so surly it won't be the map?
