  1. Just booked the ferry, I'll be going out on the 4th Aug and returning on the 9th. Staying in Adenau. If anyone's out there then give me a wave RED OCTY VRS 57 plate.
  2. Hi, Unfortunately I'm already booked for that evening. Please PM me if you or anyone else arranges another date. Geoff PS Anyone want some first hand knowledge of the Nurburgring, PM me. You know it makes sense
  3. I've been going on bikes since 1999 and done around 600 laps. I usually go after the 1st August and buy a 'Half Year Ticket'. The price of laps is getting silly now, when I first went it was about £6-7 per lap. Definitely better to go when it's quieter and combine it with a good full day session during the week. It was strangely quiet last August for a weekend in Summer. When I say quiet, it was still busy. I don't use the local hotels - try private-zimmers, much like our local b&b's. All the 'big' weekends will already be booked up for GP etc. Cheers.

Currently in West Yorkshire but not for long. Moving to Falmouth area from March/April 2010.
  5. I'd say 500 was about my lowest but would agree with 620ish if driven on long runs and not going silly with acceleration or high speed cruising.
  6. I'm pencilling in a very long weekend around the DTM race which usually takes place mid August. I was there last year on my bike and it was great to combine the two. I may also be interested for a trip later in the year when it gets quieter, end of Sept, ealry Oct usually good. Lets wait for opening times. PS I know a very good B&B in the centre of Adenau.
  7. Been to the Ring many times, done ~500 laps on bikes and a handful in cars. I'll be going next year in my Octy VRS TDi. Has anyone driven this car round the Ring? Really looking forward to going now I've got the bike visits out of my system
  8. Hi All, My first post on the site and unfortunately it's one with a bad review. Feb 07 I test drove the petrol Octavia VRS from the Wakefield branch of DMKeith. A brilliant car but I couldn't live with the mpg figures  (coming from a Passat TDi). Arranged to drive the TDi VRS the following Saturday only to be telephoned on the Thursday and told that the head sales guy was taking it away for the weekend. Great sales technique eh? I lost interest after that, though periodically kept my eye on used prices etc. I did call in during the summer to see if they had a demo or low mileage one for sale but no luck. Fast forward to the end of October this year. Having still kept an eye on prices and still desiring one, my car was written off. I telephoned the Leeds branch to arrange a test drive. They promised to telephone me back in half an hour to confirm things. They did but it was a different person. The first time I had spoken to a saleswoman and the second call was from the head of sales. I was again promised a call to arrange a drive. I told them I was free all week. No call. I decided I couldn't let one I'd seen on Autotrader at Bedford Skoda pass me by so I put a deposit on it. Four days after I'd asked for a test drive I still hadn't heard from them so I emailed a message to the head of the company asking why. I thought I was doing them a favour since they'd clearly lost out on a potential sale. Within a few hours Angus was on the telephone to me apologising for his sales staff. It seems to be a common topic for DMKeith and I'm not really any wiser as to why they have such a poor pre-sales technique/attitude to customer test drives. I'd like to add that I have been really pleased with Progress Skoda of Bedford and Letchworth.
