Hi Folks, My 1.9Sdi Fabia from 2001 is proving hard to start. Sometimes takes 5 or so tries. 100k miles on clock. First try, no firing at all 2 try, perhaps one chug, then nothing. Thereafter, a stuttering start, then stalls. Eventually kicks into life. Once running seems fine, no apparent loss of power. Yet other times, starts just fine first time. Fuel filter is only about 5000 miles old. Battery is fine and glowpug light comes on and goes out as usual. Would really appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks folks!

Hi Moley and AndyPandy All up and running now - thanks a ton for your help! Yes, a track on the pcb was corroded away, so I bridged it with wire, dried out the board, sealed with RTV and everything is running sweet again. Great help! McNark

Thanks folks, I'll take a look in the morning. I may be able to repair/replace any tracks which have corroded - I'm an electronics engineer by trade, so have all the necessary tools and a fair bit of experience working on damaged pcbs. Any clues on the best way to get to the amplifier? I guess I'll need to remove the head lining - is there a preferred way to do this without codsing it all up? Many thanks again, McNark

Hi My 1.9Sdi 2001 model has just become very poor in radio reception. All FM sations are very weak and can only be received when I'm on high ground. Been fine for the past 7 years. Been like this for 2 weeks now. Any ideas? I thought maybe the antenna plug has come loose - how do I get to the back of the radio to check this? Thanks in anticipation of your help, McNark
