A good bit of rattling because of the subwoofer comes from the tin plate between the exhaust and the body of the car (don't know the exact word for it in English, sorry) I've been thinking about removing it, but haven't done so yet. Oh and my subwoofer is installed in a casted box made out of glass fibre in the spare wheel hole, with bitumen absorber in between the the box and the hole.

Nothing. I like the smell the way it is

Forge Rear upper strut brace - who has one?

Looking forward to getting the PM :p -
I probably will unless I come up with a solution to the flickering problem. As I never tilt my rear seats (except when installing audio equipment ) I don't need the light at all. Would just be nice to have it fixed, but won't if it costs too much

Plastic engine slump - what a nightmare!
Dalgor_ replied to leighboyuk's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I'm located in Finland and I bought it from a local shop. Cost me around £105, installed it myself (bolt-on) and haven't had problems since. I think the make was "Sheriff" and the official item name here in Finland was just plain "Fabia RS 1.9 D TDI 9/2003 - 1896cm3 ASZ 6Y2 4cyl. 96kW 130bhp" Ask around, think they should have them there also -

Replaced mine with a metal one, end of problems -
Mine has the same problem, the seat is clicked into place but the light still flickers every now and then, sometimes more and sometimes less. Need to check it out now that it's topical here also.

No PM's yet mate -
I've replaced my plastic under tray with one that's made of 2mm steel. It isn't as thick as the plastic one, so I now have more space between the under tray and the ground, although it still does scrape every now and then either on gravel or on tarmac if there are deep tracks for the wheels. Anyway, the steel under tray actually protects something, which is in what the plastic one failed at Also I'd like to give in my 5 cents for the splitter discussion, I painted mine (along with the front bumper) around a month ago, and it has scraped badly twice already, so now I'm just going to get a "LOW HURTS ->" sticker pointing at it rather than worrying and replacing or repainting it I can get pics of the steel undertray for you if you want to see it.

Amen to that And I have to admit that I like the feeling when the car scrapes

60.5cm both front and rear here (although I seem to be one of the few who have 18 inch wheels which brings the arch a bit higher) but am thinking of lowering it a bit further

Can you ship to Finland? I'd have to move my speaker crossovers as they seem to be bolted on the same height on back of the rear seats where the strut brace would go, but would definitely be worth it -
I bet it's as bad here as it is there mate, couldn't get on my own yard with my car in the spring The motorways are still full of signs warning about unusually big pits and such. Just need to get more power to compensate the loss of avg mph caused by the braking

Exactly. It does bring lots of stiffness and roughness to the ride. But since this car is a hobby of mine (it's such a wonderful excuse for putting money in it, don't you think? ) I'll pay more for the tyres. Although I didn't get the most expensive ones, because I like to spend a little more on my winter tyres (friction, not studs, Nokia Hakkapeliitta R). And what comes to the roughness of the ride, that's exactly what I'm after. I've lowered the chassis as low as possible with these wheels, and have set the dampeners to their stiffest position. Also I just ordered a rear ARB and am going to order a strut brace for the front from my local dealer today. The stiffer the ride, the better I'll try to get some pics of the car when I get it back, have it currently parked at my employers parking lot and have a truck on me instead (Ming my English grammar, I'm from Finland )
