  1. We have bought two fabias from winner both great except fuel comsumption of our mark 2 1'4 tdi.Service very friendly and efficient our son has just moved into the area and takes his 51 reg. octavia there for service in this week for its 250000 miles service
  2. Further to the comment by skoda family I do not think that expecting at least an approximation to published figures is not unresonable. Our son runs a 51reg 1.9tdi octavia estate 230,000 on the clock up and down motorways and returns 52 mpg overall. Our old mk1Fabia 65mpg+.I Also some years ago ran a Peugeot 405 diesel F reg 1988 that did 36000miles per annum on business and returned 54mpg,so to expect a modern 1.4Tdi small car to do more that 53mpg in 90% rural running is not unreasonnable
  3. Paul 2129 regarding your claim of 74.9 mpg did you have a following gale !! Being serious this shows the total inconsistancy of these vehicles. I notice that several of you 1.4Tdi mk2 owners are disatisfied with the mpg as compared with the pulished figures.Have you complained too your local agent and if improved how was it done.If not please complain to them and to Skoda customer services Address Selectapost 34,Sheffield S97 3FA Then Skoda may take some action hopefully !!
  4. We had a Mk1 1.4tdi estate which returned over 65mpg in its 31000 miles with us.We changed it in March for a Mk2 1.4tdi estate, its a great car except for the mpg the best we have returned is 60mpg on a quiet A road, but over all 52.6mpg we live in the country and only do 5 to 10 % in built up areas. The agent was most obliging but found nothing on the diagnostic machine,so I contacted Skoda Uk and ended with the Sales Director side kick sending me a lecture on how to drive economicly.I am still following up this matter as what is the point of a cleaner exhaust if you end up using 25% more fuel. What action have you all taken on this matter.
