  1. Well thank you.. I`m not sure how I`m going to digest all that information :rotz:
  2. My vrs felt loose at the front (and back) for quite a while but today doing steady 65 it suddenly felt horrible and dangerous. I always suspected something wrong / worn in the front left corner, today it felt as if the wheel was about to fall of. When I jacked the car up to have a look I found out that when I put a screwdriver between the subframe and suspension arm and lift it will move!?!?!?! Is that normal or are they ******d? The car is on 70k miles and is quite crashy over potholes, sometimes the steering wheel judders under heavy braking. Below are photos of the rear arm bush and ARB bush on the left hand side. And a video featuring the screwdriver Any advice greatly appreciated Phil
  3. I am happy to announce that my "Secondary air induction - incorrect airflow detected" problem accompanied with the 16795 code and EML light is now sorted After seeing one of the threads here which referred to another on some vw forum I had a look at the 06a103221bk pipe under the intake manifold and found it to have not one but two massive splits: Now changed and all is well, car is much nicer to drive, much less jerky, throttle response faster and smoother. And the stupid light is off, happy days
  4. A rough translation of the commentary in the first video: Red color is typical for Ferrari but in this case we have here even more exclusive car. You might wonder - what might be more exclusive than a thoroughbred from Maranello. You might be surprised but it`s a Skoda. And really, this is no Aprils fools joke. This Skoda with model designation 720 is probably the only surviving prototype of the model. Because of a political decision it has never reached production despite the fact the development was finished and first cars tested. This is how the successor to the popular Skoda 1000MB was to look like. With a lenght of 4.30 metres it was a typical midsize saloon. Sporty looks were supported by four round headlamps and negative angle of the front facia. Flowing lines of the back finished of the elegant looks. The famous Italdesign was signed under the style of the new car and although the cooperation with the italians came at a cost of 40M csk it also introduced modern procedures and know-how. Couple of prototypes in three body shapes and two types of the front end were produced in 1969. The front of the car would reveal what engine and trim the car had. The quad-lamp version would have a petrol 1.5 litre engine while smaller 1.2 litre would only have two headlamps. A simple instrument panel fully satisfied the needs of the prototype vehicle however a lot of parts and design ideas were later used in the 105/120 model range. The seats are soft and comfortable and the back seats are generously roomy. The four cylinder petrol engine made out of light alloys develops 87hp at 5500rpm. Together with 125nm of torque and four speed gearbox brings the car to a maximum speed of around 95mph. All the wheels had independent wishbone suspension with coil springs and telescopic dampers. Car was equipped with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the back. Thanks to soft suspension it likes to roll in the corners and when compared to modern cars the steering is heavy and not precise. There was a long list of optional equipment prepared for the model, like ABS air conditioning, automatic gearbox, disc brakes for the back wheels and even a pneumatic suspension was considered. It is obvious that the 720 was created by enthusiastic engineers who were working on a completely new type of car than before. They have proved they would have been able to produce a car that would have not been lost in the world market however it was not meant to be.
  5. Found these two videos the first one shows that was to be produced but was stopped. The shows the 720 as well plus some other models and prototypes.
  6. Hi my rear drivers side door lock stopped working, does it mean the motor is gone or something got disconnected or is there is a fuse for each door or something? Thanks
  7. I had the Pro Race 2 on my old car, sorry it wasn't skoda of any sort I would go for 18'' at least as they look smaller due to the design.
  8. Are the gear ratios different or same as 5 speed + 6th gear?
  9. Anyone? Or should I not bother
  10. I`ve got the P0411 code showing up, as far as I can tell all the pipework should be fine, secondary air pump sounds nice when it`s on so I was thinking maybe the n112 is sticking or something? Funny thing is everytime I reset the light it always comes back roughly after 3 days? Why not straight away.
  11. Hi is it possible to clean the 1.8T n112 valve or what is it? If yes would anyone be able to point me to exactly where it is as I`m not quite sure  Cheers
  12. I`m looking into painting the inside of headlamps black together with the indicators (not reflectors themselves obviously). Is it easy / difficult to do, I suppose they are glued together and are a pain to take apart but how much pain are they? I think together with grill surround painted black they would improve the look of the car especially when it`s black. Has anyone done this on a black car? Oh the car is mk1 vrs
  13. Thanks for the replies, they are standard discs and pads (at least I wanted standard lol). Does it mean when they bed in properly there will be more contact between the pad and disc creating more braking??
  14. About a month ago I had new pads and discs fitted to my vrs allround. Just today I noticed there is quite a big gap underneath the front pads, I took a photo of the drivers side one, the passengers` one is the same with just bit smaller gap: Looks like it`s creating a little groove in the disc as well.. Is that normal?? Or should I take it back? The car brakes fine but to be honest it could be better with those huge discs..??
  15. Thanks for that, for the link as well. If I buy from them, what`s the best place to get them fitted? I know kwikfit wouldnt, tried them before
