  1. Looks like a nice example, and as it has FSH, why not if the price is right? I've no regrets about getting a Jag
  2. I had a set of these on my old Octavia II vRS after seeing some good reports here on Briskoda. A decent tyre for the price but didn't last as long as the Michelins on the car from new.
  3. Now Skoda-less for the first time in eight years after selling the Superb today. I'm posting this photo from our roadtrip to Austria last summer as a final tribute to a great car
  4. I collected the XF on Saturday, so the Superb is now available for immediate sale. I will consider realistic offers for an early sale.
  5. I've had some interest in the car and from this a better idea of what people might be prepared to pay for it So price now reduced from £9,990 to £9,500 ono
  6. The 3.0 V6 diesel would have been the sensible choice, but I've gone for a 3.0 V6 supercharged petrol . A member on the XF Forum told me "basically you've bought an F Type with room for friends and their luggage." http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/387673-time-for-a-change/
  7. First post updated, with latest service and MOT expiry dates, tyre tread depths, photos of interior and alloys added As a former vRS owner, I agree with old newbie2. If you have an Octavia vRS TSI this would be a great upgrade.
  8. I've been checking out pricing of used Superbs and that price looks to be in the right ballpark for an estate. There's a 2012 2.0TSI estate with lower mileage on the Skoda Approved Used website at just under £12k. The 1.8 should be cheaper and the one you have seen is a year older. If it doesn't have to be an estate, you might be interested in my 2012 Elegance 2.0TSI DSG twindoor in the For Sale section. The only issue with my Superb over four years and 46,000 miles was the fuel filler cap door sticking shut - fixed under warranty.
  9. I thought long and hard before deciding to move on from the Superb. Its very well equipped, a great combination of performance and refinement and with the 0% VAT offer on in 2012 I couldn't see anything else like it for the price. You can't quite say the same about the Superb III, although the SE L 220 TSI is still a lot of car for £27k. I first saw the XF advertised at the end of last year. A price cut at the end of January plus a deposit contribution offer brought it within budget. There are very few V6 petrol XFs around. I've only seen three others for sale - all with higher mileage or at higher prices and two in colours that weren't for me. So once I'd seen the condition of the car and driven it I thought this was an opportunity that might not come along again any time soon. We don't have kids so losing a bit of space in the back wasn't an issue for us. I'm braced for higher running costs, but reassured by having a two year Jaguar warranty.
  10. I agree that the size of the boot opening isn't great Mine also has the ivory interior and alcantara headlining - makes a nice contrast with the British Racing Green paint Interested in your comment about the doors, but the doors on mine felt really solid when I drove it yesterday. There was a facelift model introduced in 2012 and maybe the facelift included some interior quality improvements?
  11. Overall average over last 2,000 miles or so has been 30 mpg, including a fair proportion of short trips at this time of year. I'd expect 1-2 mpg better when the weather is warmer. 35 mpg is achievable on longer runs and once, when I had time to spare to get from Manchester to Coventry and tried an economy run on the M6, cruising at 55-60mph, I managed a journey average of over 40 mpg on the maxidot display
  12. Thanks for the comments Deposit paid yesterday on a 2013 Jaguar XF I'm picking it up in two weeks time, so the Superb will be available for sale from 22 February, having been serviced and with 12 months MOT
  13. Not as much rear legroom as in the Superb, but plenty of luggage space and has a split folding rear seat if we need it We did also consider a Jaguar XE but decided it was too small, so that led to looking at the option of a used XF
