  1. That's how I used mine for engine breaking as a petrol engine will just run away on steep hills, the tsi engine was so quiet you couldn't hear it, first time I used the paddle from traffic lights forgotten using it drove around town in first gear doing about 4000 rpm!Sometimes used it on motorway to get from 7th to 5th gear, it was over a £300 option on the mk2, £100 it's a no brainier really just like the smart light on the L&K.
  2. Used one on Saturday when it was raining, all I can say is there flimsy gust of wind inverted it, good now they are in both front doors but the mark 2 superb had a quality umbrella.
  3. Should be the same as the Octavia footrest, that's what I fitted to mine. The mounting bracket and screw will be the same even if the DSG footrest is wider.
  4. Nothing's ever simple is it, defeats the whole object if you have to touch the door handle to arm the car.
  5. I have, really happy with it, seems to have a better midrange and you certainly notice the difference. The remap is the same as the Octavia 150.
  6. I had one MK 2 35,000k 58 plate Tsi 1.8, only problems was a vibration in second gear that only happened now and then. Also had a company car MK 2 manual 2.0 Tdi the clutch was a little heavy, my manual MK 3 is very light and it was a worry that it was going to be like the MK 2, so if you're buying a DSG because of a dodgy left knee (like me) I recommend trying a manual first as it is worlds apart from the last model clutch so light and a slick gearbox.
  7. Only seen a black hatch with silver alloys last month, you would have thought I would have seen more in 3 months! Mind you it was the same when I had my MK 2 when they first came out, they must all be on the drive at home....
  8. Seems I'm not alone on the finger print magnet of the L&K trim, much prefer SEL aluminium, TV a waste of time would rather have 19" alloys or vented seats as standard! apart from that happy with the car no problems and build quality is good.
  9. Still wont accept coding! a scan reveals the following errors: 5F - Information Electr.--Status:Malfunction 0010 Address 5F:Information Electr. (J794) Labels:3V0-J35-MIB-HGH2.clb
  10. Nice to have but expensive, I have early starts for work so heated screen was very important now no lines in the screen, think it would be essential for Norway and Sweden
  11. All went OK except coding, both codings gave me errors (error 83 and error 81), lets see if gizmo68 can come up with some answers...
  12. No I have only done (63) and (64), what is the other needed stuff please?
  13. This is not working on my car, are you sure it's "(64) databus extended" as there are a few options in there, (63) is enabled
  14. TSR is what I wanted, hopefully some tech guy on here can find away to do it.
  15. I carnt see a problem, that wheel is identical to mine plastic piece is all one bit held in with 2 round lugs on the each switch.
  16. I feel your pain, the car would have come back to 2 flat tyres and a nice scratch down to metal so the rust could settle in, scum!
  17. The only difference I could se would be a dsg might be a slightly wider footrest, the manual would fit on the frame it attaches to.
  18. Yes just held in by one torx screw push up to release, I used a dining knife to help prise it up as it was stiff .
