  2. Hi ya Lummox, yes I'm still around. We must meet up sometime!
  3. It sounds great, ok I work for Alpine, so you could argue I am biased:P but everyone that's listened to it has been impressed. The kit does work out a bit, but that's one of the perks of the job, as its my company car/daily runaround/demo car. I can't comment on the cost, but the quality of the finish is outstanding. All I can say is that the install was extremely good value for money by Paul Richardson at Car Audio Innovations.:D
  4. After 3 years of Superb Elegance ownership, I wanted a hatch or an Estate. The lease ran out (April) before the new Superb came out, and I settled on a Octavia II L&K Estate. I've had some ICE installed at Car Audio Innovations in Markyate, near Dunstable. Photos of my car are on their site: Alpine Scoda Hope you all like it I'll get some of my own pics posted up soon.
  5. My car is a 05 Elegance with Full Leather. This was an option at the time as the standard spec was partial leather. The partial leather seat headrests are not Nappa Leather so will not be a match. If the car has full leather, then it will match.
  6. The seats are definitely black, and it has to be the Nappa leather. Reason for swap? The car is a lease vehicle and I need to return it to Standard as the lease ends in April. The car served as a demo vehicle for Alpine Electronics. TME-M770 is no longer a current model, and we cannot sell a 3 year obsolete monitor as it is second hand(although hardly used, in excellent condition and in full working order). It would also cost us money to buy new headrests, so this way its a win-win with whoever we can do a swap with.
  7. I'm not after money but a straight swap. However it would need to be Black Nappa Leather headrests. I understand the original leather covers from Skoda cost £93+vat each, so if you wanted them, it would cost £93+vat x2 so that I can retrim them.
  8. Hi all Not sure about this yet, but I am just checking out if there is anyone out there that would be interested in a straight swap of: 2x Black Nappa Leather Skoda Superb headrests with: my 2xBlack nappa leather Skoda Superb headrests professionally mounted with Alpine TME-M770 6.5" LCD touchscreen monitors. The monitors were RRP £599 each. Installation will be down to whoever takes them, but it is a bargain for someone! This is not a scam/hoax, there is a genuine reason for this and I'm sure Lummox can vouch for me and the kit. (sorry it seems Lummox isnt here anymore....)
  9. I read in Autocar few weeks ago that it will be Nov 2008 in the UK.
  10. Nearly a year after I started this thread, it still lives! :)
  11. If that arrives before April 2008, it would tick all the boxes: :D Has to be a hatchback Would like it to be a Skoda (but not too keen on the octy styling Needs to look a bit more evil) Needs a double din aperture for Audio/Nav Would like to have DSG SUPERB!!!!
  12. Mine did, until I realised it was the iPod that was in the pop out pocket underneath the armrest. I realised this after taking the centre console apart! Doh!
  13. The wood trim in the Superb isnt fake. Unfortunately it looks fake. i recall reading an article where Mercedes had the same problem, where an engineer said that Mercedes has the technology to make real wood look fake. The Superb has a similar problem to an extent, but when you realise its real wood veneer, then its suprising how less fake it looks in your mind. If you take the trim off the centre console, and scratch the black paint off the sides, you will be able to see real wood veneer between the metal and the lacquer.
  14. I have used a Castrol 0W-30 oil up to now, which has 506 01 rating. I cant remember the name, but it was in a silver carton. This has now been replaced by Castrol Edge, (of which there are several variants) and the 5W-40 is recommended according to their guide book. It has a 507 00 rating but doesnt refer to 506 01 on the carton. Is 507 00 a higher rating/equivalent of the 506 01?
  15. I'm going to have to disagree here with the comments on spring only change. I have only the Eibach springs fitted, and yes it is due to cost and that it's a lease car. I have covered 30,000 miles in 14 months, it isn't bouncy, and handles well. No doubt a full coilover kit would be even better, but for me it is a good compromise. With all the scare stories around, I spoke to Eibach UK regards the premature shock absorber wear before I went ahead. They assured me it has been designed to work with OE shocks. This has proved to be the case so far. My car is a 1.9 PDi Elegance, but it is slightly heavier than the usual, as it has lots of Dynamat (sound deadening to improve car audio quality) and I.C.E. equipment. I can't vouch for SPAX, but I can recommend the Eibach's. They also have two versions for the Superb, a 2.5 version and a 1.9 version. I asked why this was the case, and they told me it was due to the extra weight on the 2.5. It seems thay have thought this through!
  16. He's also selling a Passat and a Mondeo. A trader perhaps?
  17. When I started this thread I would never have guessed that there were so many on Briskoda!
  18. It's amazing how a seemingly "small" change makes such a big difference! 'SUPERB!!'
  19. I paid in Euro's, I think it was around Eur 30.
