24 Passed test in 02 and am clean. although amazingly last month was pulled after "attempting to accelerate away from a bike which turned out to be old bill doh! Damn window tints at night! But let me off doing 105 in a 70 down a bypass after checking my details Tbf it was 23:30 and sod all on the road but it helps having family in the control room :-D although won't do it again :-/

I'm 24 and had my mk1 octavia vrs a year.. Although iv added a couple mods eg h&r springs , miltec exhaust,bmc induction kit, remap blar blar my mates rip the **** out of me but I have 2 kiddies and it's the most practical car with the power to boot. My mates face was a picture when he tried it off the lights in his fiesta st haha something about an understated performance car i actually like :-D

I have a BMC carbon fibre induction kit £200 fitted and worth every pennie :-D

Hey problem solved atleast partly.. Had 2 air leaks and misfire on cylindar 1 and 3 so that fixed however couple hours after this it went into limp mode ! Only done it once in couple days but gotta go back and check for more fault codes! Her although I have put a BMC induction kit on it and next week it's getting a miltec system from the cat down put on.. So hoping that will sound great together! Just hoping to find out the corse of this limp mode problem now!

thanks guys ill do the checks and hope to solve the problem. i put ebc disks and pads on front and standard disks and pads on the rear.also racing fluid to boot so it stops pretty well now

Hi Guys, had the n75 valve replaced and the remap was finshed off. Got it up to 216bhp 243.5 lb ft torque.... feels 100undered times better although there still a little drop off at 3500rpm before it climbs back up... vince at SR said it could be spark plugs although they were replaced only 3k ago...he said you tend to feel the judder slightly more in my car then most and although its not a problem and ideas why? Also whats the next mods to do for a little more bhp? was thinking induction kit. Is there any one in particular i should be looking out for? thanks

Hi guys, Quick question i had the octavia vrs mk 1 remapped last week but the was something wrong with the valve that carrys the boost..it dropped at 4000rpm so its gotta go back in wednesday to have it replaced and then back on the rollers. My Question is iv been told you can get an upgraded valve...not sure if its the n75 or v75 or something! (sorry bit nieve about that sort of thing) Is there such an upgraded valve and if so how much better is it to the standard one? thanks for your help

sounds like you brought sensibly mate. Tbh i didnt mean the octavia v the fabia, i meant the octavia v the fiesta st.

okay what about vs a octavia vrs mk1 ? im certain my octavia would do my mates st but he doesnt think so yet has always turned down the chance to find out off the lights! Im pretty sure the vrs would do him although its no contest now with the remap!?

cheers for the quick reply mate.... not looking at spending too much as i just had a massive bill for the motor already. The alpine speakers in the front are great the guy in the shop said i could run a amp/sub off the rear speaker cables and power it that way if i kept the standard head unit or lose the changer and get a new head unit on top. said for decent amp/sub 1000w with fitting about 300notes then plus the head unit if i wanted to change that. Does that sound like a good plan considering i only want a bit of extra base or will changing over the head unit make a massive difference for the extra 100 or so notes?

Hi, does anyone know if you can add an amp / sub to the standard head unit? Not sure if there are any pre outs or will i need to purchase a new one and go from there. I upgraded the front speakers to a pair of alpines however the bass still isnt the greatest. Any suggestions on brands etc? Thanks

the whole point of ASR is to stop the wheels from spinning.. I had a golf mk3 vr6 before and never had the same problem, only because it didn't have traction control lol Iv spoke to vince from SR and he didn't seem to concerned and it was his suggestion to put the EBC discs on the front. I'm gonna keep the faith and hope you guys arnt proved right. Other question is I'm running the car on Goodyear eagle f1 tyres all corners, what's the best pressure for them?

hey guys thanks for the replys....shame i didnt check it earlier or post it sooner as i have had the greenstuff pads put on. The day was half successfull and half annoying!! the successfull clutch /flywheel is all done and now my car drives amazingly better..no more double clutching...and the pads were all fine the annoying the discs were all knackered! so had to get new ones all round and keeping with the EBC theme put EBC discs on the front. And while doing the remap we discovered that the turbo boost valve is also knackered....it gives up the boost at 4000rpm which is annoying also! so its back in next week to have the new valve fitted and finishing off the remap. having said all that its still noticably faster now and cant wait for the finished product although the extra cost is abit of a dampner!

The Good: Thought id just let you guys know im having my octavia vrs mk1 remapped 2moro at stealth racing with the forge dump valve.... Vince really seems to know what he is on about and cant wait to see the difference in performance The Bad: Couple months ago i was trying to show off to a mate and wheel spin all the way down my road...unfortuanly forgetting to turn off traction control!(STUPID) As you can imagine the smell of the clutch was lovely when i pulled up and since have had allsort of problems getting it in gear while driving / when stationary... progressily worse! so with the remap booked iv also had the pleasure of fixing my mistake with a new clutch/flywheel to be installed just prior to the remap also at SR at a cost of #632 that will teach me! The sensible: New EBC greenstuff brake pads to be fitted to the front and new standard pads to the rear Its gonna be an all day job but will be nice having the extra power being able to get in gear cleanly and pull up on a dime :D :D But i could think of better ways of spending 1200!

Hi thanks for your replys guys... i hit the recirc button on the climtronic and almost straight away the noise had returned little quiter but lots more frequent... hit it again and it was intermitent at best again so im guessing you guys are spot on with the gears or motor.. is this gonna effect its performance massivly or just annoy me until i take it to the dealer?

Can anybody shed some light on the strange nocking typr noise which is coming from the passenger side dash. its intermittent but very frustrating. im driving the octavia vrs 01 ... have been told but garage it may be an electrical issue with a relay... which i think is rubbish and iv also been told by someone this is a common problem and its to do with the fuel lines which run there. it does usually happen when its cold but not always, only way to describe is it is like the noise your indicators make just slowed down alot and deeper sounding!! any one with any ideas would be greatly appricated
