  1. Having had both on my old Fiesta Van the Avons are far the better tyre for your requirements. Both types saw in the region of 20k on the front and 45k on the rear.
  2. Drive them both. Never driven the Seat but had a drive in a Clio 1.5 and found it was far better than I expected. Quite refined, frugal and handled well so there you are. No big deal just book a test drive in both I await you view.
  3. Will hopefully make an appearance one possibly both days as for camping doubt it. It however would be fun trying to fit any tent/gear in the GTM. If camping V8 would be a must!! I can hardly plan a week ahead never mind months.
  4. I can say they do work as I fitted one to the wife's old micra 1.0 just to see if they did. Took it to a rolling road at Minimaster's in Penrith. Results - before an impressive 40bhp at the wheels after 44bhp at the wheels. All done within the hour so good honest figure's. The bit about the noise is true however. Paid £29 through the Time's news paper (special offer) Only suitable for N/A engine's
  5. BFG are a better tyre IMHO than the Nero's. Had both and not too keen on the Nero's however the BFG's are good value good grip and lasted as long. I do 40k a year across a few cars so tend to get through some tyre's. Not a tyre buff but use the local dealer so what they have at the time. Next buy for me if in stock will be the latest Goodyear Eagle F2 Asymmetric.
  6. No sorry don't have any but spartan is the only way to look at them. The car has no real heating to speak of and not even an interior light. You cannot see most of the instruments and the gear change is poor but I love it . It is however a eye turner as every drive has drawn the interest of others. Oh and can turn in 50mpg never going below 45mpg due to the 750kg weight. Another plus, insured unlimited mileage business use for £310 fully comp. I am nearly 50 though!!!!
  7. Its not a Jap its a GTM Libra 120bhp when new 11 years ago still perky and just a bit of a change from my ZTV8. Its mid engined 1999 kit and looks great well I think so. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/849/img2408x.jpg/
  8. I agree on some and I can never claim to be the greatest driver ever. On the first drive in the car for over two months and new to the car I found the low aspect of the car a problem being unable to see over some corners and being aware of the roads history one must take care. I was also not using the full range of the engine keeping below 5500rpm only exploring the upper 1000rpm later in the drive (not shown). I could have kept closer to and tailed the car in front but only if using the full engine range but watching the temps on the K series and being cautious, gave it some beens later as the confidence grew. The french part I enjoy and like to use the road. The late breaking there was not too much although a little late on one! Oh and the ten year old tyres were always at the back of my mind. Bringing the car down again soon so I hope to learn more about the car and may even get round to changing the tyre's. I took the car back up to Scotland that night and have not driven it since. All in all valid points and can do better will polish up as soon as I have the car again.
  9. Thanks Mike enjoyed very much. Merry Xmas. Whats wrong with the driving? All tips welcome.
  10. Thought so you passed me at Bass lake after which I tried to keep up in my black van.
  11. Off topic but were you heading for Keswick around 12:00 today?
  12. For £10k you could get both if you watch and wait!! All I can say is they may be like chalk and cheese but they both put a smile on my face. Oh there is a very good ZTV8 with Roush S/C for sale right now around £12k http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3450182.htm Sorry now sold!
  13. This may not fit the picture but they have a boot and reasonable storage behind the two seats. Plus points to me anyway looks, cheap to insure and run (£270 for unlimited business use not bad - I am 47). I paid just over 5k having missed one at £3.5k. One of the best on pistonheads right now for under £10k http://imageshack.us/g/833/img2405lb.jpg/ If you need to know the bad let me know.
  14. Not me just lifted from an other user on the GTM forum although have been there many times!
  15. I'm passing this on because it definitely worked for me today, and we all could probably use more calm in our lives. Some doctor on TV this morning said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished so I have managed to finish off a Bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle Of wum, a pockage of Prungles, tha mainder of bot Prozic and Valiuminun scriptins, the res of the chesescke an a box a chocletz. Yu Haf no idr how bludy fablus I feel rite now. Plaese sned dhis orn to Dem yu fee AR in ned ov iennr ****s. An telum,u blody luvum!!
  16. Indeed a great day out. Thats the first spirited drive in the GTM thank goodness for duck tape!! As said good grub and nice cake myself and son Andy had a great day. Thanks to all. Steve and Andy
  17. Heading up to Scotland to pick up my car for the run. Setting off from Glasgow around 08:00 tomorrow to make Rheged for 10:00. See you all there.
  18. Ian the count in my car has gone down from three to two. Now only two for food. This may allow the selection of my wee kit car for the run.
  19. You can show mine, no worries here I will be in the V8
  20. Mike the noise coming from the car sounds so good I thought it was the V8 two in front. What was making the glorious noise?
  21. Party of three for us now. I will e-mail ASAP with selection.
  22. Put me down for this. Must be the last run of the year. I thought this one was so made my way up to Scotland 130 miles there 130 miles back and 148 miles of route plus 20 mile link. The roads were slippery and my a**e was out almost as much as my cars rear end!! Hope this will be as entertaining without the scares. Steve.
  23. Cheers Ian looking forward to the next run out although the ice cream stop may not be so fitting for a while.
  24. Again cheers the rad looks like new on the outside at least. The car is closing in on 10k and will have a complete engine flush done at its next service at 12k. So by my count the car should be in before the end of the month. The hoses between the rad and the engine seems to have no major trap points and look like new. The oil pressure and engine temps are good. I am however very aware of the potential problem so I give the car the coolant checks at least once a week along with oil, tyres etc. There are people who say the K series will fail around the 30k mark no matter what you have done. I have however read on MG/Rover threads that some have seen much more without the dreaded HGF. So I hope to get as much as I can but no matter what, there are plenty of option if/when it goes.
