  1. Prices are bonkers. In Ireland before grants. Enyaq 60 €46,570 Enyaq 80 €54,360 80 is same price as top of the range kodiaq 4 wheel drive fully loaded. Its diesel for me next I think.
  2. Got sorted (I think). Replaced the alarm siren as I'd seen some Audi posts that it has a battery that fails (9 years old) and flashes the indicators like what Im seeing. Garage was €245 plus VAT and fitting. €400 ish... Went to german cars dismantler in Limerick and got one out of 2014 passat for €30, fitted myself and it works perfectly. Battery should be fine for a few years. No flashing for last 48 hours. (fingers Crossed). Buying the VCDS cable was definitely worth €30.. To remove the siren remove the cover the white arrows are pointing to. Pull of the rubber seal at the front. The panel is just pressed in at the window and has no screws. (note - mine had the wipers on the other half of the panel, yours may be different) Once removed there will be another black cover for the siren. This is removed with 2 torx screws. Then you see a bracket where the siren is mounted underneath. Insert a 13mm spanner to the top of the siren and loosen and remove the nut. Unplug the siren and plug in new one and refit everything in reverse of above. I didnt disconnect the battery but did have ignition off.
  3. @langers2k thanks for that. I see there are several models even upto 2016 using this siren so I will try a few breakers to see if they have one. From other post it seems this is where the siren is.. It's mounted by a rivet to the underside of the bodywork below the windscreen, near to the left-hand bonnet hinge. You probably won't see it unless you remove the plenum chamber on the LHS. HTH

  5. thanks @langers2k. Is there a test to see if it is the problem ? Ive seen so many posts with different suggestions. 1 - Battery in Siren 2 - Faulty Siren (even though it goes off if i trigger it). 3 - Faulty bonnet or boot lock switch 4 - Fault in door wiring loom 5 - Interior sensors too sensitive 6 - Interior sensors faulty. As I cant start changing them all its getting frustrating. Question - can the alarm be disabled totally and only leave the door lock \ unlock ?
  6. No need to remove the glove box. It can pop out from underneath. I replaced mine with one 3 years newer and its started the same thing. Did the WD40 help ?
  7. I have issue where the indicator lights flash after 30 seconds of locking the car. The siren doesnt go off. If I leave for 10 minutes they stop. If I unlock and lock again I get one of these next. 1 - They flash again after 30 seconds 2 - The full alarm goes off (rare but at least means the siren is OK) 3 - It works fine I checked with VCDS and these were the errors. 01134 - Alarm Horn (H12) 004 - No Signal/Communication Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 01100100 Fault Priority: 4 Fault Frequency: 254 Reset counter: 39 Mileage: 145657 km Time Indication: 0 Date: 2012.12.06 (DONT KNOW WHY THE DATE IS WRONG) Time: 07:19:12 Freeze Frame: Term 15 On Voltage: 11.55 V ON ON Term 50 Off OFF OFF 01134 - Alarm Horn (H12) 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00100010 Fault Priority: 4 Fault Frequency: 254 Reset counter: 74 Mileage: 145674 km Time Indication: 0 Freeze Frame: Term 15 Off Voltage: 12.95 V OFF OFF Term 50 Off OFF OFF If I clear the errors and the flashing starts again these 2 errors appear again. I have been to 3 skoda garages (paid for 3 diagnostics) but they found nothing. The Fault Frequency must be the total number of times its happened. Anyone have any idea what causes these errors. Im at my wits end on this... Thanks
  8. Hi @chimaera is that different to what a garage would normally do when they connect the computer to the car ? What type of scan exactly should I be asking them to do ? Im not 100% sure but think that the hazard switch doesn't even light up when it goes off. I would assume a faulty hazard switch would replicate a pressing of the switch if it was the cause ? Also if it was a faulty switch would unlocking the car stop the hazard switch from setting off the indicators ?
  9. UPDATE I replaced the car battery but the flashing indicators still happens. Seems worse after journeys of less than 10 miles. I now have to lock the car and wait a few minutes to see if it goes off. If it does I unlock and lock again and repeat this until it stops (3-4 goes max). The siren never goes off and nothing showed up on the scanner at the Skoda/VW garage. Anyone any idea what may be causing it or even is it linked to the alarm and I could disable the alarm totally ??? At my wits end..
  10. Eventually got to bring my car to a local auto electrician who had done a few of these recently and they replaced a section of the loom away from the tension area and all works fine again. It was emotional to have the rear heated screen working after nearly 5 years. Really bad design from Skoda.... Probably why you dont see it in later versions.

  12. @Noddy90 here is the screen I have in the pumpkin. Its an app called Car Settings.. One other thing. In my unit I dont see the Air Con settings on the unit when I change something but canbus for all the other bits are fine. Do you see the AC settings on the screen when you change temp or fans or something ?
  13. @Noddy90 Put in my Android stereo on Friday and its quiet nice. Went for the Pumpkin 8" one. Can you check 1 thing for me though. My battery in the Car info on the stereo seems sometimes low. With engine off it goes from 12.2 - 12.45 Id expected lowest of 12.6... The battery is five years old so may need replacing. What voltage is yours on the android unit when the engine is off. I assume this information is coming from the Skoda canbus so should be fairly reliable.
  14. Ive a weird one. For a few months now on and off I've had an issue where the car would be locked and then after a few minutes the 4 Indicators lights would start flashing. They would remain flashing for ages. There would be no siren / alarm or anything. I would sometimes have to leave the car unlocked or it would keep going off. Then for no reason it would just stop. It started happening again yesterday even when I was at the garage (VW) and they plugged it in to diagnostics and saw nothing. Last night it was happening also so i checked a few things. I had seen others say it may be an alarm battery or siren issue. So I opened the window and turned on the alarm with doors closed. After 2 mins I put in my hand and the alarm and siren went off. I also tested the battery last night and it was at 12.36v but Im not sure the accuracy of my meter. Am going to check against a good meter later. I have just purchased a new radio (pumpkin,havent installed it yet) as lots had said battery issues caused by columbus and I wanted more features on the raidio anyway. So with the unit I got an OBD2 adapter... Should that help me check if there is something going on recorded by the cars computer ? Is that reading the same as the skoda Vehicle Diagnostic tool ?
  15. @timrevill Can I ask a few questions ? What was the part you mention ? Where was it (maybe a photo might help). When you say the connections on the left was it a connection problem or a faulty part problem ?
  16. Im contemplating it ... Will hold off for a while to see how the android unit goes. Even if I sell the car its nearly 10 years old so no ones going to get too excited that the original isn't there. @Noddy90 I know the volume and track buttons work but does the phone button on the steering wheel work too or is it programmable to do something else ?
  17. Is the bluetooth connected to the columbus or to the car computer ? How do you disable it with VCDS ?
  18. I ordered the Pumpkin Octacore 8" and it should be here next week. One question.. Do I need to disconnect the bluetooth unit under the drivers seat or is it OK to leave it there connected ?

Hi All, looking at replacing my Columbus but have a few questions. 1 - I use Spotify all the time.. do the wheel controls work for that app or is it just with the default player (back and next track etc) 2 - Do you have to setup each player for the exact model of your car (I see lots of videos for Skoda and they choose a VW setting) whats the recommended one for 2009-2011 skoda superb 2. 3 - Does the Station names work in the UK. Most youtube videos only have frequency and do not show the station name. 4 - For installation did ye disconnect the car battery or remove the panel with the airbag light on it ? 5 - What way did ye connect the columbus antenna to the android unit ? Ive seen all types of approaches in videos but most were not RNS510 so not sure what is best approach. 6 - Is there a spilt screen to show 2 apps on the screen at the same time. Id like to have google maps and spotify on the screen at the same time..
  20. All, I have 2 cables properly terminated to go from the columbus to the BT module. The question is do I need to disconnect the big columbus connector on the back of the unit to fitt the wires or can I just press them in. Also do I need to disconnect the battery or will just removing the ignition key suffice ? Thanks

Didnt have to remove a thing other than the fabric stuff held up by 2 stud things. pressing the heater pipe forward really helped, put fingers in where arrows are in photo and pull lightly forward 5-6mm while dropping the blower out. here is the octavia video and I think that would have come out too. See removing the glove box and heater thing doesnt actually create any extra space for the blower to drop out other than easier to see what you do. Once you disconnect the cable from it a wiggle gets it out. Its the advantage of a big car there is lots of space for everything.
  22. Im going to tackle this job soon and wonder if anyone has a diagram of what each cable is ? If not maybe those that have already fixed cables can identify what colour cables were broken that when fixed sorted their issue. One other question. Was there enough slack to do a permanent job or should I extend the cables and is there enough space for joiners where the cables are for everything to fit back later.
  23. The replacement of the blower was straight forward. Took off the sound proofing fabric and twisted the blower and with a little bit of wiggling it came out. It helped by pressing the passenger air feed pipe (for heating and cooling) behind the glove box towards the glovebox by 5-6mm. The fan was stiff and I sprayed WD40 on it and tested it and it spun up fine. But I still replaced it with the newer (2012) one. Id seen others that said lube only worked short term so I continued with the swap. Last thing is MAX button worked fine first go but for the rest I had to remove ignition key and go again and it was fine. Thanks everyone for the help . . . Saved me a fortune... Thanks Briskoda Guys.
  24. I went for Plan B. A local breaker had a 2012 skoda superb heater blower thats the same as what I need. I collected it today and plugged it in and hey presto the fan came on and variable works fine. I will try fit it tomorrow. It looks like it should drop out without removing glovebox or any other bits. €70 for the part so Im happy...
  25. @999smiler I too have an elegance and think the same issue on the blower as you. I assume that the passat replacement was one from a climatronic version passat ? I rang dealer and the one I need is £395 and have no intention paying that. For others with elegance / climatronic what 3rd party blowers did ye go with ? One other thing what car models and years are the same as the 2009 climatronic skoda blower ? Links would be great. Thanks
