  1. Yes the insurance will however I had a bad experience with their approved repairer which resulted in the ombudsman being involved so I arrange the repair myself
  2. I have had 2 car crashes in 9month this one has affected me mentally, I am taking medication for this. Any way on 20 august they assessed my car I specified to them I need a diesel car that said that's fine only time I could get there was today that worked for both of us. Arrived today no diesel car, after trying to arrange alternative I advised I would have to take the petrol one. I advised him I struggle with driving it as all I do is stall and over rev it he told me that I would have to pay if I damaged it I said no as I requested diesel they failed to provide what was promised, he told me to fix it elsewhere. He is fully aware that I am struggling with nerves and just berated me for being honest! And Daz no it's not doncaster directly but the body shop for all dealerships. I have spent £100's at that franchise and had courtesy cars from them one for 4 months while mines was repaired but no more! I even asked them fro details in the fabia coming in October but they can stick it I will get a BMW
  3. . Avoid this body shop at all costs! They can't even fulfil a basic request with 4 weeks notice when you question this and honestly view your concerns you are berated by an idiot in a suit who has neglible people skills and no idea of customer service the only way I can see he got the job was to murder the organ grinder while he slept! lol
  4. Not sure what he did but it worked brilliantly :-)
  5. Anyone in the West Yorkshire area can help with re-threading a glow plug or help me move my car to a garage please
  6. I think we may have been to same place was it ls12 area? And did it work?
  7. i dont think mine has £600 left in it its been a problem from day one :-) i only need another 18 months before I can change car
  8. my 04 Vrs has been doing exactly the same thing for about 18 months 2 years, I did not think anything about it as I am constantly on motorway and the car is old, I just recently had its clutch and flywheel done and I was told the gearbox is Foo bar, however after ringing around several transmission centres I found one in Leeds I explained the issue and he said bring it to me let me drive it, he knew exactly what it was I was describing and he did drive it and has told me the repair can be done with box in situ. He asked me to call my VAG specialist to ask him to call the centre so he could explain what to do, I did this but my guy said its not possible as it has an “internal issue” and refused to call. The transmission centre has given me a number of someone he can do it and he told me that it’s a bearing ( not which one) in the box that’s moving and they can put a shim on it to stop it whining about £50 repair which is brilliant as cheapest re-build so far is £650.00 and cheapest 2nd hand ( which I don’t want to do ) is £450.00. Its going in on Tuesday so I will let you know if its worked. I cant se why the transmission centre would lie as he is not making any money from me
  9. I was told by a bodyshop manager ( not the one that did the repair) I am gonna call the dealer today
  10. Hi another query I have since discovered ( although I am not sure how true it is ) that you can no longer get the bumper for the VRS and that its a standard bumper that has been adapted! I was not made aware of this and would have liked to have known as I would have looked at the possibility of a repiar to the exisiting one rather than a new bumper
  11. ok guys i have the pictures no one else can see it but I know there is a difference with the shape before and after accident I have also sent a picture of the funny peg things that I have not seen before and the bumper gap
  12. I did say this to the man yesterday that if the bumper wont line up to the lamp then remove both and put bumper back first then line lamp to bumper he looked at me like I had killed his first born I will go get a picture and post it thanks guys
  13. Hi George Iahve a picture of it before the accident but not since the repair, I know I thoughtit was wierd they kept saying 51 plate I changed the plate so I know its an 04 model the new bumber has some strange marks on the corner as well that show where the splitter and the bumper join. I can get a picture this afternoon if I go out to car park.
  14. Hi I recently was involved in a rear end bump ( Not my fault) and have had to have the rear bumper and splitter replaced, since it has returned it does not look right I can only explain it as it looks less mean at the back and looks pushed in at the back. I have taken it back to the repair centre and thet insist the correct bumper has been fitted, it no longer sits flush with the car under the lamp at driver side and I can see the location pegs between the bumper and the splitter. The garage say that the bumper and the splitter do not sit flush but yet the other one did and are also saying that as the car has none genuine Skoda lamps in it this is why the bumper does not sit on the car. I said that they did not fit the lamps and the other one did fit it so if this is correct then this one should fit also? My question is as my car is an 04 model but my number plate is VR51 is there a difference between bumpers between these 2 dates as I have had to tell the centre on moe tha one occasion what year my car is? Also is there any tips on how to keep the splitter and the bumber from breaking apart? Thank you
  15. HI If the resistor had gone would this make it work intermittantly? thank you
  16. Hi mine has been working but nit to full capacity then it just stopped and won't come back on I had to change the unit recently as it stopped working on 1 and 4 and then no heat and the ac and air recirc stopped working don't know what rod look at first don't think it's the unit as lights still light and cold air seeps in
  17. Hi do you have the wiring loom for passenger side rear window? Thank you
  18. I have used this garage several times had a few niggles but went back main issue was 3 years ago i needed new main engine wiring loom took 16 weeks to repair 2 of those weeks they left me without a car! They then left my hand brake on so when it came back it was soft I queried this over phone and decided to wait until it could go for a service ( 6 weeks later as I needed a loan car) got it back and was told that it was handbrake cable but none in stock, my sisters friend looked at it and said no twisted calliper where they had dragged into free it after being stood 16 weeks with brake on then the NSF indicator would not always work and I took it back for that they charged me 15 for wiring to be re-done and a new bulb! I said why should I pay that if wiring wrong its wiring you just done so I should not pay for your mistake!
  19. you know why it stays cos when it works its fab inspection Light on and 480 miles to 48 quid diesel lol
  20. Mine is 9 year old and I have owned it since it was 4.5 in that time I have replaced front disc pads rear ones twice after this the heater unit Nsr calliper rear shockers front suspension arms bump stops osf wheel bearing osr door lock main engine wiring loom all abs sensors anti roll bar bushes track rod ends drop link arms twice brake pedal switch resealed rear doors twice coolant sensor fan belt pulley nsf window regulator coolant expansion tank nsf cv boot 2x now yeah it's got 137 k on it but theses are motorway miles hate vag build quality and clearly car hates me but I cannot get rid of it. Once this is done I still have to re-paint back bumper where the clear paint has come off and change the wiring loom in nsf window so it will work from ns door switch and egr valve that leaks lol
  21. hey devonutopia would that have done both? And cv joint split again after 30 k and 35 months? Was fitted by Skoda as well when it failed for it 2010
