Anyone seen a 4x4 in the metal? Looking for confirmation that the rear seat and boot are identical to the front wheel drive estate. I remember when I bought my current (MkIII 4x4) it was identical to the other Octavias, but the Passat at the time had a slightly higher boot floor. We've got a dilema; I've just sat in a normal Octavia estate in a showroom, and its fine. But a couple of weeks ago my wife sat in one with me, and the rear seat seemed very cramped. I'm wondering if that car was a 4x4 or an iV.... Trying to work out what's going on before committing to purchase. Many thanks!

Has anyone worked out when the ACC will allow undertaking? Sometimes it detects a car in the lane to the right, and won't undertake it. At other times it will happily try to go past. Switching on the assist system page in the maxidot confuses me further. There seem to be three scenarios: 1. Car detected in lane to your right; shown as second car in display (or just one car to your right if there's nothing in front). Car won't undertake. Makes perfect sense. 2. Display as above, but car tries to undertake. I don't get this. 3. No car detected to your right, for whatever reason, and car tries to undertake. Fair enough. At first I thought it was just in sport mode on the gearbox, or below about 50mph, but some trial and error has ruled this out. Any ideas what causes the difference between (1) and (2) above? Not a major problem, there's always the brake pedal, just interested in its logic... Thanks!

Intermittent light failure
splat replied to petecollier's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Change the bulb; if its on its way out the car detects the increased resistance and then turns it off completely... -
Any idea what the red circle (globe?) is on the top line of the SatNav display? Its a Amdunsun unit in a face-lift car. Everything seems to be working correctly, but its a little concerning its red... Thanks!

Heated Steering Wheel coming in 2017
splat replied to foregonereality's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Chances of a retrofit? -
Has anyone worked out how to reliably import contacts from google into an Amudsun (MIB2) satnav? It appears to be able to either import them via Bluetooth from your phone, or save them as individual vcf files onto SD1, and then import them from there. BUT, only about 10% of mine have recognised addresses, and the rest show as simply "United Kingdom". Its something to do with the mapping of fields. I can't work out if they need to be "home" or "work" addresses, not contain commas, or something. Thanks!

Phone button on Steering Wheel doesn't work
splat replied to Rodent's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Mine is different to the mk2. Phone button switches the maxi dot to phone but doesn't answer calls. You have to press the roller-wheel thing instead. -
octavia scout 2015/16 dsg and manual mpg
splat replied to gazv70's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
47mpg from dsg driven sensibly most of the time. Drops a bit over 70 on the motorway. Upto 58mpg in 50 limit motorway roadworks. 38 or so on windy roads with the gearbox in sport. -
I'm sure there's an obvious answer, but how do you get into an O3 with a flat battery? There's no door lock like the O2... haven't needed it yet!

Mk3 VRS Estate Towbar Option
splat replied to vRSuper1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
OK, not sure if all the pins are connected, it's the adaptor that only has a subset of pins! -
Mk3 VRS Estate Towbar Option

Dosen't fold. Detaches and fits inside the spare wheel. 13pin socket (but only the basic pins connected) with 7 pin adaptor. Seems to work well. Price worth it if you don't want a cowboy messing with your new car! -
Scout off road mode upgrade?
splat replied to doctored's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
It's a mode alongside sport/normal/eco not a dedicated button. Once activated a hdc option becomes accessible via the car menu on the stereo. -
The Octavia 3 apparently has a number of fancy things that happen to the electrics when you plug a lighting board in, which are intended for when towing. Are any of them likely to cause a problem when using a tow-bar mounted bike carrier? I guess the car won't know the difference! Its a factory-fit tow bar + electrics. Thanks!

Looking to get a 2nd set of Alloys for the Scout for winter tyres. Can anyone confirm the part numbers? I *think*: The size is 7Jx17" ET45 The standard polar alloys are 5E0 601 025 S (8Z8) for PR-CD1 SCOUT, 08/14 The optional Nivalis anthracite alloys are 5E0 601 025 T (HA7) for PR-CD2 SCOUT, 02/14 But there also appears to be a 5E0 601 025 AR (8Z8) for PR-CN0 SCOUT, 08/14 Is it correct that different designs of wheels have the same model number, just differentiated by a single letter? Is the bit in brackets (8Z8 / HA7) a colour code? Can anyone decode the PR-CD1 type bits? Thanks!
