  1. You've damaged someone else's car and therefore will have to pay for the damage in line with the BVRLA guidelines. I thought they were extremely reasonable when my last lease car went back. I paid for 1x alloy wheel which was entirely fair and less than the cost of a refurb myself and the scratches on the boot (it was an estate so easy to slide things out) were noted but they said they were light and would polish out. You have to remember that if you owned this car outright and sold/traded it in to a dealer they too would reduce the value due to the imperfections.
  2. I'm paying £6k over 2 years then I'll hand it back and get something else.
  3. Not if it's VWFS. They have a list of premium manufacturers and if you return the car with tyres not on the list you will be charged.
  4. Is the car leased? If so there are certain requirements for handing the car back which you might want to take in to consideration.
  5. I think they have you over a barrel here so not sure what else you can do other than pay what they are asking for.
  6. I think the great think about the VRS is how it can be very serene and unintrusive yet when you press the VRS button and put it in to sport you are almost driving a different car. I know the sound is articifial in the cabin but it sounds fanastic, it also gathers pace from 30mph+ at a very impressive rate. My point is that you don't need to be on the edge of the car ending up in a ditch to enjoy it.
  7. This was exactly my thinking as the dealer price matched NVS at the time. They even charged me the admin fee which was a bit of a cheek. The girl who sold me the car was brilliant but service has dropped after she left. I didn’t hear from anyone at the dealership after the day I placed the order. A complete shambles all round really.
  8. I had mine delivered to me from the dealer and it was a bit disappointing. The car was filthy, covered in dust where it looks like it had been sitting on gravel for a while. Opening the boot and the door was covered in dirt, the plastic around the seat have mud on as does the carpet around the pedals. I took my family for a quick drive and we noticed the nav SD card is missing. Then we got a call from the kid who delivered it telling me they hadn't filled out the delivery papers. None of the checks had been completed etc. Bit of a mess really! Car feels nice though, a lot more responsive than the diesel Passat I had before. I put it in sport mode and floored it from about 30mph and it gathers pace so quickly. The noise is great too, has a real growl. My 2 year old daughter asked me to keep doing it haha.
  9. In fairness I think the way Skoda have handled it has been fantastic.
  10. Has anyone taken out the servicing and maintenance plan (plus the option for tyres too)? I wouldn't normally consider it but it seems reasonable value considering the car will need 2x services (one around £150 and the other £250+) and at least 2x tyres (£150 for the same OEM tyres) over 10k miles. The plan for servicing, maintenance and tyres is £19.21 per month (£461.04 over my 2 year lease). The 2x services and 2x tyres (could be 4) would set me back around £700. Would also be nice to spread the cost and not have the hassle of shopping around for a good deal as well
  11. That's not up to date! It says my order is awaiting a build date but as of last week it had been built and was awaiting being loaded on to a ship.
  12. Exactly! The leases represent fantastic value for money but I'd never entertain buying one at £30k! My lease costs me £6k over 2 years and you would lose more than that the second you drive it out of the showroom.
  13. I'm pretty sure I either got sent a list or saw it on a forum somewhere. The process I believe is to have the car inspected and then 1-2 weeks later it gets collected and you don't see it again. Whether you get a chance to put things right in between I'm not sure. Perhaps call VWFS. I have always found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm glad my Skoda is leased through them too!
  14. VWFS have a list of charges with different ranges, you'll get an idea of what the maximum penalty you may face is. If you want to buy the car then you'll need to speak to VWFS and request a quote, they don't offer it to you. I decided not to buy my VW Passat from them and I'm waiting for my VRS 245 to arrive any week now. Also you are just down the road, I am in Rayleigh
  15. Is the lease through VWFS? They seem to be very reasonable with the damage and often it's cheaper to pay the fine than sorting it yourself (which might not be to their standards anyway).
