  1. Many thanks to Pete-Ex-Wino for his comments. I'll carry on with my investigation armed with his info. and post the results. Checked and there is no sort to earth on the green wire which leads me to suspect the sensor itself. This is a recently purchased and fitted item and is made by Cambiare who I believe are a proprietory brand. Nonetheless, even the best can fail as we all know. I am a complete novice with a multimeter. Please advise what range I should set the ohms reading in to get a meaningful reading.

  3. Have replaced coolant temp. sensor to cure previous cooling related fault and am now getting the above. I would like to be able to test the continuity of the two wires, brown and green. Brown checked out easily from sensor plug to battery neg. How do I check the green wire which I assume terminates at the ECU without any connectors in between? I have read in past threads that people connect to the appropriate pin in the ECU multiplug but the Haynes manual warns that unplugging will result in the need to recode by Skoda dealer! Any assistance will be most appreciated.
