Wierd noise after fitting FMIC...
VRSGAZ 170 replied to Steve_225's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Yeah it's really annoying because I find myself going the long way round when I leave the house to avoid going up hill so not to put it under any load during walm to avoid it doing this thing -
Wierd noise after fitting FMIC...

Yeah but only for half a mile or so then it stops and its back to full power. The car also has a pd150 turbo fitted and has no obvious leaks from the turbo or manifolds -
Wierd noise after fitting FMIC...

Glad it's not just me then. I fitted my seat sport intercooler and darkside pipes three weeks ago and i am having the same problem but only for the first 30 seconds of driving. I've tightened all clamps and checked the joints which improved the noise but its still not 100% My thinking was that the noise is from the hot side of the intercooler because its as though something expands and seals the leak. -
No the seat sport intercooler needs a fair bit of cutting of the radiator cowling and crash bar to make it fit.

What have you moved on to after your fabia?

Wouldn't recommend the Auris,I work at a Toyota dealership as a technician and the 2.0d and 2.2d are an absolutely horrendous engine. There really common for head gaskets, oil consumption, blocked egrs, blocked dpf's,water pumps the list goes on -
A de cat is only an mot fail on a petrol. A diesel won't fail a mot for a de cat as there emissions tests are diffrent

I have a BFT map, John isn't the most aggressive mapper but his maps are super smooth and pull all through the full rev range
-
I have a big fish map. Can't recommend John enough, car pulls well and doesn't smoke or slip the clutch
-
Has the water pump been changed yet?

There's your problem then. I've got a gt1749vb from them and I've had to remove it twice in the last nine month for a rebuild -
John from big fish is spot on he did an awsome job of mine. Ask him to put launch controll on its pointless but good fun

The wheel bearing may of been pressed in to the hub the wrong way. I may be wrong but I think that one side of the wheel bearing has a magnetic ring witch the abs sensor reads the wheel speed from.

The egr valve won't lift as the ecu will tell it to stay closed

Disadvantages of an EGR delete?
VRSGAZ 170 replied to JakeSVRS's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Egr recirculates exhaust gas back into the inlet manifold so removing it can only be a good thing -

check the alternator charging rate mate it should be between13.5 & 14.5 volts -
sounds like you need to go to the dealer to recode the key if this dosnt work then it must be a falt with the key its self
-
yeah sounds like the linkage you might be able spray some wd40 through the scuttle pannel on to the linkage but you`ll be better off replacing the linkage in the long run
