  1. I am a very old motor mechanic and I would appreciatea little guidance please. As I looks to me that a simple self tapping screw just might refix broken off plastic handle, (which has left the handle's flat base plate still in situe). Sadly there is no way to see what sort of locking mechanism is under the remaining little base plate,.. short of cutting open the upholstery! Can someone tell me what is underneath within the seat, is there anything to screw into? ..Or is the only way out to remove the whole seat back and tear it to bits?? Thanks in advance. Keith
  2. Did almost the same but at 40 mph. also without touching the front wing..the n/s/f wheel went back exactly as yours but in my case the very low tyre on my GT 130 PD gave up on a rock out of a dry stone wall, but the wheel then came up against the end of an unmovable wall and the car pitch poled right over its nose and landed on its side pointing in the other direction. Like yours the wishbone had just bent backwards allowing the wheel to go back..I don't know if this is by design (to maintain driving cell integrity), but having previously restored and closely involved with classic cars, In my opinion this is not a likely thing to happen on earlier vehicles. But maybe it is that these ultra low profile tyres that don't have the capacity to absorb or shrug off such common incidents and are therefore not really fit for purpose on anything other than smooth roads. I certainly will never have them again.
  3. Ahh.. I see it now that the problem could be that corrosion or damp could earth out a good bulb and allow it to light but still show as open circuit through the line's fuse Hmm.. What an evil little trick to pull. I will report in due course. Thanks all JVOB
  4. Hi All I have just bought a 2001 Fabia Estate, and the defective bulb warning light is on all the time..but all bulbs are OK. I have checked the service sheets that were given to me and I see that over a year ago the service department also noted the fault.. but didn't do anything about it, just said "needs looking into"? Anyone got any ideas where to start looking please. Thanks in advance. JVOB
