  1. I had a similar overheating problem, in the end they changed the water pump. I think it's a known issue.
  2. Hello everyone:) I googled a bit but could not find much...i am interested in all the differences between the OEM normal and sport suspension on octavias with torsion beam. I have bought an Elegance 2.0 TDI with sports suspension and found it annoyingly uncomfortable, simply it was to hard....so I exchanged it with KW street comfort coilovers, which were much better, but started making noises after only 10k miles, and front shocks now sound like broken after 20k. I still have my OEM sports suspension, but i hated it and dont wanna go back to that....so my question is....are the shocks the same on both normal and sports OEM setup, and the only difference are the springs, or are both parts different? If some owners that have sports and normal setups could write down part numbers I would be very gratefl, or If someone knows a link to a page with all part numbers for new Octavia, that would be the best......if such place exists, ofcourse:) Thanks and cheers:)
  3. The smear, as you call it, ilustrates the fuel tank:) And i agree, it really looks like a smear:)
  4. All i can say is....yep! dont know what to do about it frankly:/
  5. The KW coilovers are TUV certified, which means that german regulatory body, in charge of determining and certifying all the necessery features of products put out on german market, determined that the KW product in no way compromises the cars safety in any way......the germans are pretty strict about such things, and if something is TUV certified, no need to worry about it.... Skoda just wants to earn extra by selling "original" parts, that most certainly can be subpar to parts produced by specialised producers......skodas original suspension is, no doubt about it, a cheaper product than the KW suspension, really dont think that they spend 1200-1500€ on OEM suspension....
  6. Part number for KW Street comfort coilovers , for Octavia limusine 5E (2013- ) is .... 180 81 028 These are for cars with torsion beam . Cheers.
  7. Left the packaging at work, will take a look and post it tomorrow:)
  8. Sorry for ressurecting the thread:), but if anybody is interested.......today I have exchanged the oem sport suspension with KW Street Comfort coilovers....the first impressions are great, night and day difference compared to the OEM sport.......the car was even lowered more than I wanted initialy (about 25mm lower than sport, and 40mm than regular, i will probably raise it a bit, cause i often tend to travel full), but the ride is of totally different character. It is much less harsh, the bumps are absorbed fluently, no more hard chrashing feeling through the spine, Its by no means a cruiser, it still has 18" wheels, but now its totally clear that OEM sport suspension was mismatched shocks and strings.....the in-car noise over the road imperfections is greatly reduced, all in all the car rides miles better than it used to. Really didnt think it would make this much difference, i even reduced the tyre pressure to 2.0 psi with the OEM to reduce the crashing and now im riding on the normal 2.3 pressure. I have 3 days to test it and than I will go back to the shop and make all the fine tuning, set the height and do the balance and wheels geometry. If anybody is interested I will keep them posted. Cheers
  9. Heres a photo (not great, i admit), but I think it will sufice to see how low it sits and compare with yours ... http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/8091/hsrn.jpg
  10. Maybe it needs to settle, also of note, check if the dealer removed the transport rubber profiles from your springs......on my mk2 they forgot to remove them. My Octavia with sport suspension is without a doubt lower than standard ones. Btw.....i have written in this thread about my dissatisfaction with , what I find, a horrible crashy ride on sport suspension and 18 golus, so I ordered KW Street Comfort coilovers. When I install, I will get back to you all with my impressions:) Cheers!
  11. Freetrack, hi! I have been dissatisfied with the aspect of the new Octavia you are talking about. Btw...Im also form Croatia I ride on factory sports suspension and 18inch Golus, and find the ride very harsh, many people here disagree. I also find the car acoustics not helping the problem since the car has a very strange resonance when hitting pottholes and road imperfections....so I am bothered with both hits I feel through my spine and low frequency thud that resonates through the cabin. On my setup I fell like I can sketch the road i ride on with my eyes closed, I feel every imperfection in my bottom, even the ones not visable to human eye:) My mechanic thought I was crazy, than took a ride with me for half an hour.........epilogue is me purchasing KW Street comfort coilovers to try to remedy the situation I ll see how that goes......but regarding acoustics I dont know what can be done, maybe some dampening insulation, they messed up with the insulation of the boot and under the back seat, thats why you can hear the fuel int the tank when you fillup full.
  12. Hello guys! I can not find the remaps for the new mk3 engines on their web site. I thought maybe somebody from GB has some insider info about the new software development or something..... Here in Croatia I contacted revo dealer, but he still hasnt called back. The only one that has made an offer was O.CT tuning, but I think 1000€ is too much. I would love to go REVO because of SPS http://www.revotechnik.com/sps/ , so I can return it to stock before the service , to avoid loosing warranty. So, any news?
  13. But you can aslo read above that many people disagree with me, if the roads in Norway are better than in Croatia, where they range from great to bloody awful, it will be ok for you. What i am 100% sure about, no matter what other people say, mk2 sport on 17" is much more comfortable ride.
  14. I have the same setup, and as you can read in few posts above, I find the ride very firm. Yesterday i drove the same course with my old mk2 with sport suspension and 17" Pegasus and the comfort level of the old one is much higher. I drove over a very poor road surface, full of holes and repairs. I believe that torsion beam is also to blame for the ride quality difference. When the rear axel goes over the bumps that stretch across the road you feel the hit through the spine, it is like the torsion beam cant react in a way to soak up the bump nowhere near as good as mk2 multilink. I really dont know which part is more responsible, the 18"s or the torsion beam....In the winter i will change to 16"s and than ill know.
  15. I found the reception just the opposite.......on my old mk2 it was more than awful....but the new one (without DAB) , has great reception, when compared to old mk2 stream radio, its quite stellar:)
  16. It needs the engine to run because of the ac, when it generates enough cold air to run the ac without the help of the engine, it turns it off
  17. Hello everyone! I have now enjoyed the company of new octy 2.0TDI with sport suspension and 18" golus for 1500km, and I am really half-regreting my choice. The car looks great, and I hate the way it looks with normal suspension, but i am suffering the consequences as the ride is in my opinion really bad on rough(er) surfaces. I feel every smallest bump, but what especially bugs me is going over rumble strips or road gaps that strech over the whole width of the lane, these i feel through my spine, and the rear axel is much louder than the front one when crossing over them. The ride is great only on highways, but generally is much worse than my old mk2 with sport suspension an 17" pegasus. So mixed feelings here, even talked to my friend, licenced skoda mechanic, about what can be done to remedy this, but he said that i am looking at about 1000 pounds of expenses....so I better get used to it. Offtopic...dont know if anybody noticed, but you can hear the fuel wallowing inside the tank when you fill up to full...also not cool
  18. 1.2 TSI, 1.4 TSI, 1.6 TDI, 2.0 TDI - torsion beam 1.8 TSI, VRS TSI, VRS TDI, 4x4 models (Scout included) - Multilink I think (almost positive:) , that this is correct.
  19. But we really can not compare diesels with petrol engines. New petrols are much quieter than the new diesels, too.
  20. I am inclined to believe this, since "KoNG_Czech" is in fact living in Czech Republic, and most of the info they share there, on the domnestic forums, never reaches us. Just a short off-topic, sorry ...... when the web site "autoforum.cz" tested the first hatches, they complained about the torsion beam on the diesels, and said it was significantly worse than multilink on 1.8 tsi, and then, when they got to test 1.4 tsi estate, they said its torsoin beam was tuned much better than the first cars recieved for testing. They believed that its beacuse the estates were "production year 2014" models, and they predicted that all of the octavia models produced from week 23 onwards, will have this diferently tuned suspension, as they will all be "year 2014 models". The jurnalist believed that the producer has paid attention to all the criticisam by the local media regarding this issue. I personaly can not believe that they didnt test enough pre-production, but this guy thinks so.
  21. Obviously England, Germany and Croatia suck, and Austria, Bosnia and slovenia is the nuts:) I dont know why Czech dislike us, still i am hopeful, id write an e-mail to somebody, but dont know to whome....
  22. Hello guys! Writting to you from Zagreb, Croatia, with some new info about the chrome package. Just talked to the CEO of one of our local dealers, and she told me that unfortunatly chrome is now unavailable for Croatia, but is standard part of Elegance package in Slovenia and Bosnia , for instance :( Its some kind of package agreement between the producer and main distributor in the country. I am amazed that on the market such as british there would be no chrome in Elegance package. But than again, i would think that if our neighbours had it (Slovenia and Bosnia), we would have it to!? I ordered my car in april, and it is schedueled for production week 23, and my dealer told me that it will come without the chrome 100%. Also told me that if i am to order and fit it post production i have to chanege also the glass on both passanger doors, and that it would cost abot 500 pounds. Not to mention I dont even want some mechanic taking apart a brand new car to fit the chrome. Really let down by this Skoda policy:(
