  1. Thanks for that again Frisco.. I thought it was a great price,,until they included £15.00 for the postage....Which makes it €26.00(Euros) delivered to Ireland.. I can get it main dealer here for €29.00 (Euros) .... So may as well go that route,,as I'll have it faster too. Thanks again for all the help guys.
  2. Cheers Kandy.. I presume they are ok to buy off ebay,,or somewhere else online? Or would I be safer looking to get it from the main Dealer?
  3. Ahh,very nice Frisco...Well spotted... That looks very much like it alright. Thank you. Edit...When I check them on ebay...They say not suitable for the TDi engine.
  4. Thank you once again mbames. I'll get the mechanic to check it over properly later,,just to be sure.. I don't want to be buying parts that I don't need..So I'll get him to make sure,,and confirm that it is indeed the CTS,,or CTS housing. And,,I want to put an end to having to top-up the coolant every few days...That can't be good.
  5. Thanks mbames.. That seems to be it alright..The housing that the sensor is in,,where it's attached to the engine. It's slightly to the left,,and up abit in the pic. Is there a proper name,,or part number for that?
  6. Hi Guys.. My 02 Octavia TDi ALH engine has been losing a bit of coolant over the last few weeks,,and a mechanic had a quick look for Me. He said it seems to be coming from the housing that's just below the brake vacum pump. I think this maybe the "coolant temp sender housing". Would I be correct in that?? The mechanic only had a quick look,,as I dropped in unexpectedly. I can't find a good pic of that part to indentify it properly. I even have a Haynes Manual,,but I can't locate it.. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks.
  7. Hi Guys,, Hope someone can help Me here.. I'm looking for a Fuel Shut-Off Solenoid Valve for My 02 Octavia TDi ALH engine. Any ideas where I might get it cheaper than what I can get it here? The main stealers here want €67.96 Euros. (£55.28) Thanks.
  8. Hi Lofty,, Sadly,,the way the car runs as it is,I'm not sure it would make it to Scotland,,but thanks for the fantastic offer. It hasn't went into Limp Mode in a while,,as I was so ****ed off with it happening,,I started driving the car like a Granny,,so this only added to the problem in the end,I suppose. Just as the Turbo is going to kick in at about 2000 rpm,I get an initial small boost,,but then by the time it hits 2500 rpm,,it's like it hits a rev limiter. Just no power there. Same if I have the 3 older kids in the car,,there just isn't any power there with the extra weight in the car. I would easily be burned off the road by a 15 yr old 998cc Micra. So you can see why I'm determined to get it sorted.
  9. Hi Guys... After reading of this method working for so many people,,Is there anyone around Cork in Ireland that has done this,,or would be willing to do it? I'd much prefer if it was someone that already had done it or had experience of it. I was supposed to get it done last week, but My own mechanic is just too busy, and My car is running terrible, and it needs to be done. For the record,I'm not a bit mechanical,or D.I.Y. minded,so doing it Myself is ruled out. Thanks..
  10. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/243533-the-mr-muscle-vnt-turbo-treatment-thought-we-needed-a-guide-of-sorts/page__hl__%20mr%20%20muscle%20%20vnt%20%20turbo%20%20treatment%20%20guide%20%20of%20%20sorts
  11. Yes..I'm leaving the anti-shudder there....Car is old enough, and rattles anyway,,so anything to minimise that. Thanks again..
  12. Hi Lofty,, With regards to your fab Mr Muscle treatment guide,,do you have one for the vac hose removal? I'd be interested in that....I'm getting the Mr Muscle one done next week,,as My car is in bad bad need of it..Getting the EGR cleaned as well,as it's never been done, and the car is a 02 with 160,000 on the clock. .
  13. Are your brake lights working ok?? Could be the brake light switch.... .
  14. I got one from the company in the link on My other post above,,but it turned out to be the wrong one. It seems while you can get them,,you cannot get them for the ALH engine, which is strange. You will notice from the link that DBP has there,,there's none for that ALH engine. You have 2 options.....You can just buy a whole new rocker cover..Or remove the old gasket,,and just use sealer on there instead. I used the second option,,and all good so far. .
  15. Hi Davies... This is where I got Mine.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=Octavia+workshop+manual&_sacat=See-All-Categories .
  16. Yeah....Looks like that is what I'll have to do.. Thank You..trundlenut... .
  17. Got to bump this......Any ideas guys??
  18. Hi Guys... I'm looking to replace the Crankcase Breather on My 02 Octavia(ALH)1.9TDi.. I have a diagram here..But I think this is the vRS engine... Either way,,would anyone know the part number for the Breather?? And any idea of a price.. I think it's number 18 on the pic... http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/tarmacsurfer/breatherdiagram.jpg Thanks.. .
  19. Also having trouble with this....Can't get it to unlock.... I started up a seperate Thread on it on the Forum (No Replies),,,but lost as how to sort it... Any ideas??
  20. Hi Guys... I recently bought a Remote Central Locking Kit for My Octavia. This is the one here... http://www.rclick.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=50&products_id=671 A friend of Mine was checking it earlier,,as he was going to fit it during the week. He's an ex car alarm installer. Anyway,,on checking the relay with his tester,,he can get the central locking to close,,but he can't find which of the wires is for opening it. He presumed it would be close to the opening wire, but it's not. He's trying to check if the relay is a "Negative Trip" ?? Would anyone have any idea about this?? The car is a 02 Octavia TDi with the ALH engine. It has Central locking, with full closure. Thanks.......
  21. Sadly, car hire over here is Not cheap. But My mechanic is an "indie",,so he's not that expensive...Not as dear as hiring a car anyway. Yeah,,it would be great to have it sorted..It's a very annoying problem...I can't "trust" the car, with regards to overtaking or anything like that. I'll get it sorted,,it'll just take a small bit more time. Thanks for everything.
  22. I honestly wouldn't be able to afford that... My Wife is just after starting up her own business,so things need to be kept on a leash for a while... Thanks for the idea though..
  23. Sadly,,as We have 4 school going kids,,the weekend option is just not there...I just can't do without the car,,so it would need to be done same day at the very least. That's why I was looking at the other option. Glad it worked out for you though,,mbames.
