  1. Back on the search now as I have the funds to purchase. Looking at 11/61/12 plate vehicles with sub-50k miles. Can you give me reasons why should I go for a Superb estate over an SMax? Really torn between the 2 cars at the moment....
  2. What sort of MPG are you getting overall? The GL seems to be awesome with nearly 60MPG allegedly!
  3. Hi folks. Wondering if you can help me solve a dilemma I have. I'm looking at buying a family car and as I'm tall and drive with the seat all the way back, rear passenger legroom for the kids is key. The search has been narrowed down to a Superb or Ford Smax as rear legroom is vast in both. It has to be a diesel. My question is: what diesel engine should I go for? Greenline? 140bhp or even 170bhp? My driving is mainly motorway and A road for commuting and family stuff. The car will cover about 18k miles per year so clearly MPG is important. I would like something with a little punch for easy overtaking and speed changes on the motorway. Would the Greenline feel underpowered when fully loading with wife, 2 kids and associated guff? Would a Greenline + remap be the way forward or should I just opt for the 140bhp 2 litre? How different are real world MPG figures across the range? Sorry for all of the questions. Any advice or tips gratefully received! Thanks.
  4. Sorry to dig up an old thread but.... does anyone know if this is the "pre-facelift satnav facia?" Any idea of a part number? Thanks.
  5. Seemed like a good turn-out today! I was running the grey Mk4 Ibiza (Gooner_Mike from SeatCupra.Net) and have been eyeing up Fabia VRs's for a while! Its a bit cheeky, but does anyone have any pics of my platinum grey Mk4 Ibiza on the rollers? Here is a crappy photo I took on my phone!
  6. Just as the title says really! I know the two share some suspension components but will Eibach lowering springs for the Fabia Vrs fit my Mk4 Ibiza FR?
  7. Thanks for all the advice folks, what a nice and friendly bunch you all are. I don't think I can justify changing cars at the moment, maybe in 6 months it might be different! Going for a new job you see...
  8. I did notice the Fabia was a little softer than my FR when I took it for a test drive.
  9. That's what I thought. I reckon I could squeeze that £2k gap down a little but to be honest at this moment in time it doesn't seem to be the best decision. If I could get it down to £1k I would go for it!
  10. Hello folks, I'm a member over on SeatCupra.Net and I have a dilemma... I test drove a black 06 plate Vrs this AM and TBH I was impressed! The car was clean and fine inside, no dings or dents and drove really well (45 min test drive on my own) At the moment I have a 55 plate Ibiza FR 20VT and I was wondering should I sell up and plump for the Fabia? The bloke at the garage said he could only give me about £4k for mine in exchange for the Fabia (£6k). I do lots of mileage to and from work (20k per year) and the fuel bills are killing me a bit so I thought the switch to diesel would be the best bet! (I have worked out I will save £700 in the first year through fuel and tax with the Fabia Vrs). Link to Vrs
