i have averaged 49mpg over the last 500 miles from my standard fabia vrs..mostly short trips..have seen 64mpg once on a long trip...last insurance quote was £220 from hastings direct.

2 weeks ago had key hole surgery on my kidney..in monday afternoon,surgery tuesday morning..back home wednesday dinnertime..very quick and painless.

Mine is the same year ,and milage as yours..and has the same problem?...millers sport 4 treatment has helped reduce the smoking a lot,still get it on hot days when "flooring" it..but told that that is normal.

Its such a lovely day today down south that i decided to "blow the cobwebs" out of my furby vrs. Just done a 150 mile round trip ..averaged 48mpg going and 57mpg on the return trip..same road,higher speed on the return trip...private road of course, so it looks like i succeeded in my "italian tune up":)

This is one of the reasons i go shopping at 5.30 am..i can park where i want in my local Asda car park.

5.30 am,the only crowd are the shelf stackers..but parking at the local Asda is easy this time of day.

60 years young..and on my third year as a furby vrs owner.

Just Got Back From The Dealers..new Seat Belt Being Fitted Under Warrenty Next Tuesday.

Hi Folks..has Anyone Had A Problem With Their Seat Belt Retracting Mechanism?. Over The Last Few Weeks The Front Passenger Seat Belt Has Been Very Slow To Retract (wind Itself In)..today I Pulled It Fully Out To Check It,and It Won,t Go Back At All...warranty Runs Out In 2 Months..will Take It To The Dealer Tomorrow...hope Its Covered By The Warranty...also Of Course Its 1st M.o.t Will Be Due At The Same Time. Annoying Thing Is The Passenger Seat Is Only Used About Once A Week,the Driving Seat Every Day Of The Week And The Bely On That Side Is Perfect.

Those were the days,used to sit on top of portsdown hill in my van with a 7 foot firestick on the roof,a president grant radio and a 400 watt linear amplifier.talked to over 50 countries..had to keep my engine running to avoid a flat battery,still keep in touch with some of my old american contacts..via e-mail now,and still visit eachother..i was a member of the alpha tango dx club call sign 26 at 240..divorce put an end to my hobby..home base i used a pdl2 directional cubical quad antenna..chris.

Hi guys, Was up early this morning and read the thread on the "gearbox rattle" on the fabia vrs. Ive had this rattle (knock) for 2 years now ..driven me mad checking every thing,bushes,exhaust,heat shield,etc...had it serviced twice and the dealer could,nt find anything wrong. after reading the "fix" using silicon grease i took a drive to the dealer in fareham and told him what i had read! seems they dont aprove of info on Briskoda!...but guess what? after the grease up,and driving home on the bumpiest roads i could find its fixed! quietest its been in 2 years...cheers guys.

Had a simular experiance myself 2 months ago ,the idiot driving an old golf gti ended up hitting the local vicars ford galaxy,writing off the vw(not too much damage to the ford) "was god on his side?"the vicar did not think it was nesscesary to get the police involved!..result the young chav now hurtles around the estate in a beaten up astra gte thanks to the holy man.

[Just got in from the portsdown hill meeting..got there 1/2 hr too early and ended up surrounded by 23 citroen 2cv,s "frightening"they were having a meet also. When the Skoda crew turned up it was a very nice meeting,nice to put some faces to the names...sorry i could,nt go to the spinaker tower with you guys..just going to try and put some pics on this thread....Chris "the old phart" cant get my pictures up ..will keep on trying though.
