  1. Oh thanks, apologies for the mix up :p (have changed the original post)
  2. My apologies upon checking the Haynes the 8v is a chain driven cam (I'm not mechanically minded) The replacement part was listed as a "V belt" is this a drive belt of some sort? The reason given after the service for the part being replaced was: "Poly V Belt cracked"
  3. Ok after a browse through my paperwork the Cambelt was replaced at the same time as the front brake pads on the 19th of July 2010.
  4. Yep its an 8V and it had its cambelt replaced. (I'll have a quick flick through the paperwork and give you the exact date).
  5. Hi guys Temp Sender fitted two weeks ago, nice to see a true temperature on the dash. The codes have all been cleared via VAG-Com and the car is running great. Am reducing the price as my new car is waiting, the price is now £900 O.N.O.
  6. Hi im located in the West Midlands. I have uploaded more pictures to photo bucket of all the niggles I described, I apologise for the light conditions, been waiting for it to brighten up all day.
  7. The Photobucket album is as follows: http://s727.photobucket.com/albums/ww276/sitesoftheday/

  9. This Fabia has been my pride and joy for 4 years and I would happily keep it were I not starting a new job with regular motorway miles meaning a diesels a must. The previous owner drove the car once a week to the local farmers market, although its 11 years old to this day the car has covered just under 35,000 miles. The usual faults have been sorted out; the temperature sensor has been replaced, the steering angle sensor has been replaced it has been serviced every 8-12months at a licensed car group garage (Brindley Honda). The clutch was replaced and the gearbox oil was changed last August. The car comes with 12 months MOT, 3 months road tax and a huge amount of paperwork. It has unusual optional Skoda alloys with Pirelli Snow Sport tyres (which I had fitted to the car; that happily for young driver do not need to be declared to insurers),the V belt was replaced last year, An after market electric window kit (fits in the dashboard where the storage tray would be). A Hawk R.C.L/alarm kit. A Skoda Symphony CD player and the front and rear speakers are uprated (Panasonic dual cone speakers in the doors and Panasonic tweeters in the front pillars plus Kenwood speakers in the back)the battery was replaced in 2008. I have cleared the windscreen drains and changed the pollen filter last week I've put a lot of TLC into it. The interior is almost immaculate (with only a few creases in the driver seat fabric) there are a few small scratches on the paintwork and the rear bumper has some hairline cracks there is a dent about the size of a 5 pence piece above the rear offside arch where a rock picked up off a country road - essentially nothing unexpected for a car its age. There is only one fault with the car a few weeks ago the E.P.C light came on and the car went into limp mode I had the codes read when I took it in for MOT and the error indicated a faulty temperature sender (I have a replacement on order from Brindley) this will only require fitting when the car is bought, I have tried to get the car into the garage to have the sender fitted but owing to the time of year and work I cant find any free time to get it done. The price is £1,000 (owing to the low mileage). This car would be ideal for anyone and I'm sure is the lowest mileage example of its age. For those who would like to perform H.P.I checks etc.. the reg is W367 RVT (photos to follow).
  10. help! mines a 2000 1.4mpi classic and I'm getting a leak in the passenger foot well after heavy rain i have had passengers complain that their right foot is soaked, is anyone else getting this problem?:rotz:
  11. wow what a car, prime example of the breed your very lucky.
  12. yep i agree a bit longer wearing them in and the grip levels should peak. say about 500 miles if they don't improve return to the garage because they should have settled by that point. its also possible that a tyre conditioning solution has been applied to the tyres prior to fitting to make them appear shiny if the tyres are shiny this is most likely the case, as these are vinyl based solutions this can cause reduced grip, the manufacturers always instruct the garages to treat only the walls but often they just soak them in the stuff, it looks impressive but becomes tiresome once you get behind the wheel.
