  1. So after months of looking around I’d found a great company to lease my next Superb through..... the customised order was put in to Skoda UK and all I had to do was sit back and wait..... I contacted the lease company earlier in the week and enquired about when they’d need my retention certificate for my personal registration, they said they’d check with Skoda UK for when it would be being registered in the UK..... to cut a very long story short I was told the order had been mislaid, now they’ve (SUK) finally admitted it was never actually submitted last October!!! Skoda’s loss has been Audi’s gain.... After getting absolutely rubbish service from them I’ve gone to Audi and got an absolutely belting PCP deal on a secondhand low mileage immaculate A6 Avant Quattro 3 litre TDi ‘Black Edition’ amazingly with the essential factory options I required from the superb! If anyone else is in the same boat as what I was, I.e waiting for an order please just double check it’s been processed properly - unlike what I did!!!!!😤😤 So it’s goodbye from me before I really said hello on the mk3 Superb forum... Steve🙂
  2. I’d consider getting one of the 4x4 versions, either 150ps manual or 190ps DSG for towing. Im sure the 150ps version could be tuned up to 180/190ps with a tuning box or remap. Steve.
  3. Hi all, Has anyone had experience of using the genuine Skoda iPad holders which clip to the back of the front seats? And if so, are they any good? Also, can anyone confirm if the facelift 2020 Superb has USB sockets in the back? Thanks, Steve
  4. A quick search on eBay should bring something up👍🏻 There are loads out there... eBay
  5. I’ve just found a 65plate SE-L executive estate (2litre 150ps diesel, manual) on the auto trader which is a little over your budget at 12k, but it has the factory fitted foldaway tow bar and is 4x4. High mileage at 74k, might be worth a look?👍🏻 Steve.
  6. Hi, Personally I would definitely go with a 2 litre diesel - ideally with 4x4, especially as it’s 1450kgs... The cheapest mk3 Superb with 4x4 would be the manual 2litre 150ps diesel in SE-L spec, but you’d struggle with a 10k budget. Have you considered mk2 Elegance spec 2litre 140ps manual or 170ps DSG diesel 4x4 estate? Steve
  7. I asked the very same question the other day... I couldn’t find any 19/20 L&K models with it present, but could as stated earlier find a few examples of it on the SE-L executive models.... Steve
  8. Something like this... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-20020/ Steve
  9. Years ago in my old heavily modified 450bhp mk1 vRS I fitted the boost gauge and a AFR/EGT gauge in a pod which mounted on top of the steering column. you could get a pod for single or twin gauges - I can’t for the life of me remember where I got them from though.....I’ll have a search for you👍🏻
  10. Hi, From what I gather this is an electric heater which helps heat the cabin up whilst the engine is still cold. Once the engine’s up to normal running temperature it switches over to the engine for its heating. Hope that helps 👍 Steve
  11. Hi, What is this feature on the facelift models? Am I right in thinking it will it allow me to heat the car without the engine running? Thanks, Steve
  12. Hi all, Has anyone had any experiences with the above tuning boxes on the 190ps TDi engine - ideally the 4x4 DSG (7 speed) variant. I will be using my Superb for occasional towing (twin axle caravan approx.1700kgs) and the added extra torque will almost certainly be required. Many thanks, Steve
  13. Hi, It doesn’t appear anywhere on the new face lifted configurator though? Steve.
  14. Hi all, hope everyone’s had a great Christmas!! I have recently put a factory order in for a fully decked out L&K 4x4 estate which should be arriving April/May 2020. I’ve noticed on the auto-trader some images of the passenger seat control being on the side of the seat. I think this feature would be quite handy for me but don’t ever remember seeing it as an option on the L&K - I know it always used to be. Does anyone know if it just comes as standard or is it a luck of the draw thing? I have only seen it on the SE-L executive models where they’ve been fitted with the optional ventilated seats. Many thanks in advance Steve.
  15. Hi all, I've added the massaging seat to my newly ordered L&K, can anyone shed any light on whether it is any good or not?? Many thanks, Steve.
  16. Cheers!👍🏻 I’ve always fitted K&N (or similar) filters to all of my cars, not for any performance advantage they may/may not give, but for the fact they can be cleaned and reused time and time again. Regards, Steve
  17. Hi all, What upgraded air filters are you folks using in your 2.0 TDi's and TSi's? Any links to good suppliers would be great, thanks! Steve.
  18. These were really useful clips - My order has been submitted for my L&K 190TDi 4x4 estate.... I just have to wait a long, long time now...! Steve
  19. Hi all, After four years away i'll soon be back in a Skoda!!! I have just ordered my new estate ready for spring next year and cannot chuffing wait!! After much debate I have gone for the Lauren & Klement 190ps, TDi, DSG, 4x4 model with black interior and a host of extras thrown in for good measure... I've gone for: 19" Canopus alloys Heated washer jets Heated steering wheel with DSG paddles Factory tow bar Massaging drivers seat Metallic brilliant silver Spare wheel Additional warranty cover Hopefully the next few months will fly by, but in the meantime I'm interested in hearing views/thoughts from anyone who's got a similar setup. Many thanks, Steve
  20. Thanks, I remember reading somewhere that the 7 speed (if it’s the same as fitted to the bi-turbo VW) had a better design (dry?) clutch capable of withstanding higher tolerances....
  21. Hi all, Am I right in thinking the newer 190ps 4x4’s come with a 7 speed DSG? If so when did they change from the older 6 speed? Also, is the 7 speed the same as what VW fitted in the bi-turbo 2.0TDi 4x4 Passat? Presumably the 7 speed is more robust and therefore reliable?... Many thanks folks. Steve
  22. Thanks for the feedback folks, in every other respect the superb would be far better for me, but as you’ve stated, the gearbox and lack of grunt would be an issue when towing.... my touareg has a DTUK 3 channel box on it and is simply insane when pulling (310hp & 500lbs/ft torque)... As I tow for 5/6 holidays a year reliability and longevity has to be considered, as the VW’s gearbox is the same as what they used in the Audi Q7 4.2tdi v8/6.0tdi v12 I know it’s totally bullet proof..... Thanks for your honest opinions and advice, it is massively appreciated. Looks like I’ll be sticking with my VW. Steve.
  23. Hi, I’m considering coming back to Skoda after a few years away with my beautiful 16plate VW Touareg (262ps R-Line)... My work commitments have altered and my journey has increased, therefore I’m considering an L&K 190tdi DSG 4x4 estate... I need the space as I have a dog and the 4x4 drivetrain as I have a twin axle caravan.... In every respect apart from towing the caravan the Superb ‘should’ be better, i.e cheaper to run/maintain, more kit, more nimble on the roads, quicker and more fun to drive.... What are the good/bad points about these models? In particular I’d be interested to hear off anyone who’s towed with one and how good/stable they are.... Many thanks, Steve.
