  1. would welcome any feedback? http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/skoda-fabia-vrs-dsg-2011/1028612237
  2. I was browsing through looking for a car last night and this caught my eye, any views would be welcome please? http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/skoda-fabia-vrs-dsg-2011/1028612237
  3. Skoda must have really increased production as orders have increased for the demand of 'Airbags' for most of the Skoda range.
  4. 1. Date of purchase, where purchased and mileage to date Purchased October 2011, Claybank Motor Company, Eccles, Manchester, 16,500 Miles to date. 2. How the car was driven from new - gentle or like stolen or anything inbetween The car has been 'pampered' with the odd heavy foot to overtake but generally motorway work and normal driving for 99% of ownership. 3. Oil usage history, whether massive or nothing, what oil (5W30, 0W40 etc and brand) First 4000 miles it used around 750ml of oil. Oil was changed at 4000 by myself, 8000 by dealer, 12,000 by myself and has had oil and filter changed at 16,000 miles and the car has not used a drop since. I have used 5/30 Castrol Edge, 5/30 Millers, and 5/30 Comma ProLife all recommended for the VRS TSi. .
  5. Can anyone advise me what my car is worth as a trade in or to sell private. It's done 12,000 miles 2011/61 in black magic with cruise and armrest, everything else is standard and is in superb condition with full history. I have had a massive variation on value but was wondering if there is anyone out there in the know. Many thanks in advance.
  6. I took my 61 plate Fabia VRS for it's first service and they picked up on the near side passenger window not working. Every now and again it refuses to work from either the drivers side or passenger side switch but if you operate it via key fob remote it starts to work again for a period of time. As my Skoda dealer picked up on and logged this fault I booked it in but to my disappointment they had the car a whole day and because they could not create the fault and therefore no parts were changed. I fully understand that this is an intermittent fault but you would have expected the dealer to change something! Anyone else had any window or electrical issues? Or anyone any advise?
  7. I rang up and ordered front ones, Took about 4 days from ordering before they arrived at dealers.
  8. That is very cheap insurance for such a young nipper like yourself. Who you insured with? I have been driving since I was 17 and now getting on a bit in life at 43, no bumps, no claims, no points..... why is mine only £120 less than yours? lol
  9. I certainly didn't expect to get them for 99p Matty! http://www.ebay.co.u...0#ht_545wt_1204 I bought the front ones from Claybank Skoda in Eccles, Manchester. collected them myself as I'm only 15 mins away.
  10. Hi Matty, I've just put a set on my MK2 vRS. I bought an original, new rear set off e-bay for 99p with £3 P&P and bought the front ones from dealer at £27. They fit quite well, eventually! When I opened boxes I noticed they are made by 'ClimAir'. I only put them on to stop water running off the roof into car when window is open but I would say they do not reduce wind noise at speed. Part No KCD 709 001 Front. Part No KCD 719 001 Rear. Some people like them but others don't, each to their own I guess but I think they look kinda cool on my black car.
  11. 43, VRS 61 plate, It would have been more fun if we put the cost of our insurance on too! £330 for me and my Mrs
  12. I took my MY12 fabia vRS back to the dealers a while ago with regards to gearbox rattling and posted on here. They let me test drive another one and that was exactly same but I am still not convinced the gearbox was made to rattle. It wasn't advertised as a feature when I purchased the car and this is just an excuse for something they can't resolve. I would suggest this is a fault rather than a feature. I love the car to bits but I'm still unsure if I can live with this rattle. Now as the weather has picked up a little and the windows are down more the rattle is so frustrating, especially when the car is in a confined space.
  13. I looked here at Lightcliffe last year when I was considering swapping my Octavia VRS TDi but the PX price I was offered was over a £1000 less than I was offered at another local Skoda Dealer in Manchester. To tell the truth the PX value I was given was an insult.
  14. Thank you Stratosg, I sat and watched the video and this is exactly what I am experiencing on mine. I am one of those people who I know this rattle will drive me bonkers but I am also not convinced that this is just the norm for some DSG's as I have been informed by Skoda! I have owned DSG's before and none of those ever rattled. If it was just the norm then wouldn't they all rattle?
  15. I have done about 1300miles in my Fabia II VRS DSG now. At around 250 miles i noticed a rattle coming from underneath front of the car so I booked it into my dealers. I could only hear the rattle when the windows were down and when the car was in a confined space, going between park cars slowly on a rough (ish) road surface or going down a backs with walls each side or going over speed bumps. I was under the impression it was the exhaust catching on a heat shield but after further investigation it seems to be coming from the DSG gearbox. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their Fabia VRS or any VRS owners listen out for this as I'm not convinced what I have been told by the dealers. I would appreciate any feedback regarding this subject as this rattle will drive me insane just because I knows its there!
